I am looking for relatives of Samuel Wright Evans 1861 - 1951. He was born in Bolton and served in the Green Howards in South Africa, and according to family legend was Mentioned in Despatches for an incident concerning Lord Baydon Powell. His wife was Emily (nee Blease Forster) - and he had two daughters, Minnie and Vera Evans. He lived in Irlam for many years. |

Odd that Emily was Emily Blease Forster but that the children are registered with Blease as her maiden name. |

This is the 1911 census for Emily's parents, with a grandson surname Forster, have you investigated Emily's family? |

Ann | Report | 5 Aug 2014 19:25 |
Thanks again. I had found this census record but cannot find Emily in 1911. |

This was the family in 1901, I was looking for her in 1911 to see if I could find Samuel also. |

The mystery deepens. Excuse my total ignorance but why is the name shown as Case? |

patchem | Report | 5 Aug 2014 21:53 |
It has been mis-transcribed. |

Yes - I can see how that happened. |
