Message: I am researching the Doe family from Croydon, Surrey. For a half sibling of the Doe family, in particular children born to Frederick William Doe and Ivy Timms. In total there were 7 children but 3 of these have died. Namely Thomas Doe b.1929 changed his name to Ashenden d. 2005. Frederick G Doe b. 1931 - d.1932 (8 months old). Ivy Doe b. 1932 - married Frank Spikins in 1979 no known children d. 1990. The other children were Joan E b.1930, William b.1934 (known that he was adopted at birth), Peggy b.1935 and John A b. 1941. I think that these children were also adopted. If anyone knows of these Doe family members or knows of adoptions, please contact me so that I can pass on the details to Shirley Doe - a half sibling. yes her birth comes up Peggy I Doe, i have looked up siblings but its her i really want to find first. I know for sure one of her brothers died in 2005. i went back to the house she last lived at but nobody was there and none of the people next door could help.

I am assuming that her birth registration was actually Peggy I Doe? in which case going on the 1935 birth her mmn was Timms? Have you looked at possible siblings with same mmn not born same place but not far out?

What about trying to contact a neighbour ,they often know what happened to neighbours

She may have gone into a home if she had problems

Mary's maiden name was doe, she also had a first husband by the name of Richards. Mary suffered with mental health and I lost contact with her.

Only two births in JFM 1935 for Mary Doe............none with additional forenames to match your info.

Perhaps born outside of England/Wales......................

Her first marriage was to Richards,and then to Jones so that birth is correct
