Hi Thank you for your help,yes my Father was Ernest born 1909 Islington to Albert J Joseph and Florence Newman. Also William ,John and James Twins, Ronald,Ethel Florence all born in Islington,May be the name Penna comes in some where but i have not long started my research .Also I would love to find some living relatives .Ever hopeful Brenda :-D

In 1911, the couple claim to have been married for 11 years, but there is no record of such a marriage,which isn't surprising, as.........................

Florence, nee Newman, was, at the time, married to Mr Penna...................she didn't marry Albert until 1919, as per info posted above

She had to wait for her husband to die in WW1 before she could marry the father of her children

From that 1911 census that I posted, the first son, 'Berter', was baptised as a Penna, as given by rootgatherer, whilst 'Willie' was registered as a Wortley.

'belt & braces' on the oldest child's birth.......................

..however, in view of the 1911 census for Florence's husband at the time, one would have to doubt that he was actually a Penna
