Find Living Relatives

I am trying to locate any living relatives of my father. He supposedly had a son born 10 years before me, so that would be 1958 named Egbert.

My father was married & wife had died along with son in the USA. I have no proof of that.

My father was a lecturer in Maths at Leicester University and passed away 4th June.
He was born in Lancashire but lived in Leicester most of his life.

May he Rest in Peace.

I can't see a death for Egbert in the US either

I have to say that Egbert seems an unlikely name for the 1950's

I found his birth registered in Lancashire in July 1928 his mother was Kenworthy. As for the marriage, she was not my mother and it was before I came on the scene. I was going by info. he has told me over the past 8 years. So I cannot confirm they were married.

I see a birth of a Gerald E. Fletcher in 1958, no death recorded. I do not know if this is one of the same.

Well the birth in 1958 will have the mmn so you can look for a marriage using the surname combination.

If you knew his mmn was Kenworthy then that would have helped us because he didnt have a second name on the birth registration.

Look too on FreeBMD for any siblings your dad may have had

the Gerald E Fletcher was 1959 mmn Hart and the e father was a Gordon S Fletcher so not your dad

As you have 'marked as answered' it is assumed that you require no further help with this request..............is that really the case?

If your father did not marry the mother of his older child, the birth would be unlikely to be registered as Fletcher.

Did you not meet any of your father's several siblings at any time?

Use freebmd to look for info about the siblings...............marriages, children etc

Gerald never married my mother but whether he married Egbert's I do not know. I was put Up for adoption so I know none of his family.

What info. did you find Rose on Missing you . net as mentioned above. I know he did not marry my mother as she was already married & has out lived 3 husbands to this day.
