Oh well done Kay so here's the starter to the research in Canada.

Barnardo's staff are very helpful so keep fingers crossed on this one.

If you google Barnardo's Quebec Canada there is some information on the old home they would have gone to and you may find a link. I cannot find a current Barnardo's as we have here in New Zealand, but you may get lucky. They keep good records.

Some interesting reading under Barnardo's Quebec, Canada when you google.

There is an article on Annie Macpherson:

Quote:
""Miss Macpherson brought children to Canada from her own home in London but she also had arrangments with Barnardo, Quarrier, Smyly, and many other organizations to accompany and place their children as well. Some of the children came from workhouses.""

Go on line and have a look. It may help direct you to a site. I think you will find heaps of information to direct you to sites covering the immigrant passenger ships and their destinations to all over Canada.

Good luck again.

I am J.T.Elliotts granddaughter I have been searching for any information I can get on him or his family. He was born in 1896 in Wales but do not know the town or anything. He possibly had a sister named Enid born 1904. He was sent to canada in 1911 on board the ship Corinthian as a part of the Barnardo Children. I have his marriage certificate to my grandmother and parents are listed as unknown. Any help would be greatful Ive hit a wall. Ive searched the census but without any other info he could be one of many because John Thomas is a common name. Any hints or any living relatives???? I would be so thankful.
Debbie :-)
