Find Living Relatives

I am J.T.Elliotts granddaughter I have been searching for any information I can get on him or his family. He was born in 1896 in Wales but do not know the town or anything. He possibly had a sister named Enid born 1904. He was sent to canada in 1911 on board the ship Corinthian as a part of the Barnardo Children. I have his marriage certificate to my grandmother and parents are listed as unknown. Any help would be greatful Ive hit a wall. Ive searched the census but without any other info he could be one of many because John Thomas is a common name. Any hints or any living relatives???? I would be so thankful.

You could try asking for his file from Barnardos .They have kept records for their children so that would be the place to start

John Thomas should both be on the 1911.

John Thomas Elliott left London England 23/9/1911 and arrived in Quebec 6/10/1911 under the Barnardo scheme.

Oh well done Kay so here's the starter to the research in Canada.

Barnardo's staff are very helpful so keep fingers crossed on this one.

If you google Barnardo's Quebec Canada there is some information on the old home they would have gone to and you may find a link. I cannot find a current Barnardo's as we have here in New Zealand, but you may get lucky. They keep good records.

It maybe possible to narrow a birth entry if Debbie gives his birth month,she can then hopefully apply for a BC.

Is the assumption that Enid might be his sister just because they are travelling on the same ship?
The family that I found in 1911 has all children accounted for.
If John Thomas (from the ship) was only registered as John, then Enid Violet(on the ship) may be only registered as Enid?

The 1911 family may have broken down, but would they claim 11 children living and 11 children showing in 1911 but not John?

There is only the Crickhowell and the one above that fits with his birth as,,31/10 1896 ......born in Wales as put by Debbie,maybe he wasnt born there?so was nearly 15 when he landed in CA..

You people are wonderful. Im not positive on the day or month of his birthday but i am about the year 1896. I have requested info from barnardo files I am hoping for something from there. Im not totally sure of his birthplace just he put on the marriage certificate to my grandmother that his birthplace was bagillt flintshire wales. So i dont know if he even knew where he was born. Searching through census and births there is nothing connecting. It is possible Enid Elliott was his sister they both came on the same ship with the same last name,but then again i have no proof, hopefully something will come about so i can keep going. You people are ever so helpful and i am truly grateful. :-) Debbie

Have you checked the image for the Corinthian - John Thos Elliott was listed as 9 years old, which is rather a large discrepancy? Enid Elliott is also listed a 9.
