hi i been trying to look for my nan gladys side of the family but just keep going round in circles all i know is
gladys jean elms was born 29th june 1925 st olaves bermondsey she married my grandad george charles white not sure what year, she has got sisters but i only know one of there names which is rene elms and she married a man with the last name mcginley can anyone help please

her birth should be on FreeBMD and her marriage too

Its possible the mum had been married before and was widowed in WW1 so wouldnt marry as Fry

thank you very much for all your help, yes the surname fitzgerald is bugging me as my aunt susan who died aged four her last name was fitzgerald changed to white and im not sure why, blimey my nan had to have a confusing family xx

hello shirley my dad neil charles white is gladys and george's child along with ian, dawny and paul, but im really confused about this fitzgerald i asked my dad about it but he doesn't know anything about his mums side of the family and he never knew his nan and grandads name as they always used to just call them nanny elms and grandad elms xxx

If that is the right marriage of 1958 then the marriage cert will give you her dads name and her marital status on marriage .ie a widow maybe

maybe she was the child of George but would be reg as Fitzgerald as that was her mums surname at the time

it the first one hun susan a fitzgerald as her birth date was 1950 and it was in woolwich and she died 1954 in woolwich too, 1958 is about the time my nan and grandad would have got married yes thats correct, ive tried looking for the fitzgerald i clicked on it but not giving me no name of the man that my nan may have married before my grandad xx
