Could he have been born 1919 reg 1920 Runcorn Linda.as just William.

It might be best to look at or purchase your grandparent's MC. That ought to give the name of his father, and your William's declared age at marriage.
Witnesses may also be family members which could help in identifying the correct birth record, or your grt grandfather on the 1911 census or in WW1 records. WW1 records, if appropriate and they have survived, often contain details of dependents and details of the soldier's marriage.

I have submitted a correction to freebmd, having checked the image and compared it with the previous entry for Eva

Reggie - the image has K, so Ancestry has mistranscribed it. Compare it with the entry above...Eva. Oh well, let freebmd sort it out! ;-)

On freebmd, there are 6 births 1911-1930 mothers maiden name Shaw and county Cheshire.
