Did you maybe forget to scroll down and press save after the picture had loaded Vera?

kandj Report 8 Sep 2016 14:50

Please don't look to me for IT advice Vera but do give Ann's suggestion a try and
I hope that it will work for you. I just make do with the blank image as usual
I hope that you are coming to terms with days without Mitzi. It is sure to be strange..

Jane and hubby will be well on their way to Pembroke shire now. I hope they have
a safe journey and a relaxing time together. The are some lovely walks in that area.

I have just filled up the feeders and topped up both bird baths. It's humid here today.

Ann and Kandj, I have pressed Save before Upload, after Upload, before AND after Upload......I feel as though I am hitting my head on a brick wall. I get messages saying my profile picture has changed and my personal details have been saved, but I still have a blank avatar :-. I have changed the picture several times before with no problem. If I can't get it working soon I will contact support but goodness knows if I will get a sensible answer from them.

We are coming to terms with losing Mitzi. It was just a shock having to make a sudden decision over the phone and I was upset at not being with her at the end. Now we have had time to reflect I think it was the right decision. It does feel very strange though. This morning I got up, put the kettle on and, as always, opened the door to the utility room, her "bedroom", expecting her to come and say hello as she always did first thing in the morning. It felt wrong when I remembered she wasn't there.

EDIT Just noticed my emoticons don't appear to be working either!

I was attempting to change my profile picture on my iPad, which I am sure I have done before, but I think that is where the problem lay. Just tried it on the PC and it changed straight away. Unfortunately the picture of Mitzi that I was going to put on is only on the iPad. Never mind - at least I have an avatar again :-D

I usually give up on the Ipad when doing anything like that, it either takes for ever or doesn't work. If you want to use the photo on your IPad, email it to yourself, you can then download it to your main pc.

Now why didn't think of that? Thanks Ann

No good asking me as I don't have an ipad....... no kidding!! No kindle either!!
Just no young things living near enough to shout HELP to and hubby is much worse than I am.

Ann's instructions sound simple enough to do Vera, so Good Luck and perhaps
we will see Mitzi as your avatar very soon

The robin appeared briefly again today, still mainly starlings and pigeons though..

SuffolkVera Report 9 Sep 2016 20:45

Picture changed :-D

I won't leave this one up for long as it's not a particularly good photo. I just happened to be taking some garden photos as Mitzi walked up a side path so I just quickly snapped her. I think it was taken in June this year.

OH rang the cattery this morning to tell them and they were quite upset. She has been going there regularly since she was a little kitten and they had grown very fond of her.

Not much life in the garden today though one of our security lights kept coming on during the night so there was certainly an animal walking in and out of our garden. It was probably a neighbourhood cat.

Very pleased today; the butterflies have found my mini buddleias :-D. They seem particularly keen on the red one. Lots of painted ladies and a couple of red admirals. I hope it continues

kandj Report 12 Sep 2016 22:29

That is very good news Vera. Enjoy the butterflies in your garden.

I won't be posting for couple of weeks as we have just come back from A&E.
Hubby is far from well and so my Carer's role will increase greatly. Take care all.

Jane Report 19 Sep 2016 18:05

Home again from Pembrokeshire. We had a lovely break, and the weather was really good all except for about a day and a half of drizzle and rain. Our knees and hips are recovering after walking up and down so many steep roads, steps ,walks. I don't think there is one level place LOL. Stunning Coastline and countryside .The cottage was in the perfect spot ,secluded and looking over the little Harbour in Fishguard. We had a gate in the garden that just took us down to the harbour walk.A little black cat visited us most days and loved a bit of a fuss .I expect he visits all the people who come to stay there.

Last night I saw the first Hedgehog here since we moved in in 1991 !!!.It came running across the patio about 9pm.It had disappeared though by the time I got back out with the camera :-S

Thinking of Kandj and her OH . <3 <3

Sounds like a lovely break Jane, we are in Golf del sur Tenerife and it is very hot. Enjoying it to extend the summer but sometimes the UK breaks are more relaxing. I bet Thomas was pleased to see you.

Still thinking of Kandj and OH and sending get well wishes. <3

kandj Report 20 Sep 2016 12:35

Thank you all so much for your kind thoughts and good wishes.

My hubby is disabled and our normal daily life is a challenge for the two of us. He has a bad flare-up which is giving him increased pain (poor love) and extra work for me as I care for him, trying to make him as comfortable as he can be just now.
So I'm not posting as often as I have done in the past, simply because there aren't enough hours in our day right now. It can only get better, or at least we do hope so.

Your sunshine holiday sounds good Ann, have a lovely time in Tenerife.

Nice to know your Pembroke holiday was a happy one Jane and your home safely.

Vera, I hope that you and your husband are both feeling better than you were.

Take care everyone. I'll pop in some time when I can find a spare five minutes.

AnninGlos Report 20 Sep 2016 16:20

Kandj, we will continue to think of you both with love and hope that your hubby's flare up which I am sure causes him pain, will soon ease. Don't worry about us, just know we are thinking of you and look forward to you popping in when you are able. <3 <3

SuffolkVera

SuffolkVera Report 20 Sep 2016 16:41

Pop in when you are able Kandj. We'll be pleased to "see" you. Thinking of you both and hoping your OH improves very quickly <3

It is good of you to ask about us when you have so much else on your mind. OH and I are feeling OK, thank you. I had to go for a scan yesterday. I had to drink loads of water and not go to the loo. Of course, as soon as you are told you mustn't spend a penny, that is exactly what you are desperate to do! Anyway, the lady conducting the scan arranged me, in my fetching hospital gown, at the machine with my arms backwards over my head. It was very uncomfortable and I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to hold the position for long. The lady disappeared from the room and I lay there waiting for something to happen. Next thing I know, the door bursts open and a horrified face came into view saying "I'm terribly sorry, you're upside down!" That made me laugh which set her off laughing and the pair of us ended up giggling like schoolgirls, not a good idea when you have an over full bladder. Apparently I should have been on my stomach with my arms stretched out in front. No wonder I was uncomrtable before :-D

Glad your Pembrokeshire break went well Jane. I expect Thomas was delighted to see you back. I hope you are having a lovely time Ann and enjoying the heat.

Had a robin in the garden yesterday, the first time I have seen one around for months. I am going to buy some different, branded, bird seed tomorrow when I shop. I don't think the birds are very keen on the one I bought in the market. Fussy lot aren't they?
