Am so excited! A new Maggie O'Farrell book just out and I have been very extravagant as I like this author so much. It's called 'Instructions for a Heatwave'. Am afraid I shall just have to discard the Kate Atkinson book which I am half way through (I know I know) :- I thinbk it's called being a Book Tart or did I just invent that!D :-D

I always seem to be about a year behind other people with my reading. I'm now part way through Lady of the Rivers. I'm quite enjoying it but I don't think it is quite as good as some Philippa Gregory books.

Ive had such a lovely day today, meeting with friends, enjoying their company and laughing so hard my jaw and tummy ached......A great natter , one friend was telling me about a book called Wildflower Hill by Kimberley Freeman a very similar author to Kate Morton, whos books I love so ive downloaded it on my kindle and im off to settle down and start reading it .......... :-

I have read a little bit of my book and have to say for what I have read im thoroughly enjoying it, defintley recommend it if you like Kate Morton's books.

I have just finished The dream House by Rachel Hore which I enjoyed. I also read Behind the Scenes at The Museum by Kate Atkinson. It took me a couple of chapters to get into it but that was a good read too.

Am 3/4 way through the novel Leaven of the Pharisees suggested by Susan with numbers on another thread. It's about the Magdalene Sisters. The story centres
around a woman's search on what her father suffered as a child and her need to
know what became of his sister.

Yes it was an easy read which was good as I was reading it on holiday.

Emma I have that one waiting to be read, is it a good read?

Mersey just having a break from GR before I upset anyone on some of the threads.

Ann am enjoying the novel, author must have done a lot of research into the subject,
feels as though the story is true and for all we know there might be a hint of truth in
the story.

Reading a Kitty Neale at the moment Cuckoo in Candle lane one of her better ones :-D

I have never read any Kitty Neale's book are they worth ago do you think?? :-)

Depends what you like Mersey I find it easy reading, she tends to write about pre war in the Eastend, or past times around London if you like :-D

Hi, all. I finished The Beach Cafe, by Lucy Diamond at the weekend, and very enjoyable it was too.
As a change from "chicklit", I've started Major Pettigrew's Last Stand, by Helen Simonson. It's a slow burner apparently, about the growing relationship between two oldies, with a bit of humour thrown in.

Dame Shelly I dont think I have the book a family next door? Sorry do you mean the family next in the book I am reading lololol :-D
