Have enough cards now so have packed all the Christmas card stuff away. easy to get at though if I find I need to make more. Quite a few of my cards are very simple and some are using last years commercial cards. I like to recycle the nice ones.

Well, I did three pages yesterday and two today. As it is for grandson they are not too elaborate, not that you can get much on the 8x8 pages. I am trying to get as many photos on the page I can which is what they like to see.

Has anyone ever had a problem with the posts in scrap books? I wanted to add some pages to a 8x8 and the thread of one post is completely crossed. Managed to get it out but it won't screw up now so really fed up. Am thinking of 'tying' it together with ribbon instead. Any ideas?

AnninGlos Report 27 Nov 2010 14:09

Well, obviously either nobody has had a problem or nobody is reading this thread any more. I have had a PM from the lovely Scatty. She has been busy elsewhere but is OK.

Goodness Ann I thought I had done well making 50 or so cards but you have really been busy, that's a lot of postage as well.

Sorry I can't help with the problem with the scrapbook but I have seen them on tv where they are join with ribbon and they look very effective.

I haven't done any pages for months I think I shall have to start again as I keep finding things to scrap but keep putting them on one side to do later, lol.

AnninGlos Report 27 Nov 2010 14:56

OH managed to jam the post in in the end Ginnie, it was the thread that had shredded. I really want to get back to my scrap books as I have loads of photos printed off and waiting. But then there are all the presents to wrap and a ring binder of info to sort on the family tree for 14 year old grandson who is starting to show an interest that must be nurtured Lol!!!!

JustGinnie

JustGinnie Report 27 Nov 2010 15:45

Oh yes Ann any interest must be nurtured , none of mine are interested in Family history at the moment but then I wasn't until my daughter did a tree at school many years ago and even then it was put on the back burner as life and little ones arriving took priority, so maybe one day in the future my notes and ramblings will be of interest to them, lol.

AnninGlos Report 27 Nov 2010 17:17

But when I realised how much info I have I found it difficult to weed out what I didn't need to tell him and to choose what I wanted to tell him. he specifically asked to know who was on the tree, what their job was and what they looked like so I have tried to give him what he wants and have filled the ring binder.

Hi all. Not posted in this thread before but I have just started scrapbooking. I wanted to do a book for my hubby as it's his 60th this year and though too late for his birthday I have started it for Christmas. Managed to do 4 pages today. 1 when he was under 12, a football page, a wedding page of our eldest son's wedding in Vegas earlier this year and 1 of his little girl (lhasa apso dog). I have about 4 more to do which should be done in time. Thanks for all the tips mentioned on here.
I think I may have found a new hobby!

Gemqueen this scrapbooking can be very addictive,I like to do the 12x12 size books but have done an 8x8 one.

AnninGlos Report 28 Nov 2010 16:25

Gemqueen is yours 8x8 or 12x12? It is a great hobby, very relaxing and once you start you can't stop. Your pages sound good and I hope your hubby likes the book, a lovely personal present. Please visit us again.

Hi everyone..

Pleased to hear that you solved the problem with the post Ann how annoying for you.

Beware Gemqueen as already been said this hobby is highly addicted. Good luck!

I have just started a double page of 2 of our grandsons at the park during the summer so lots of bright colours. I am now on my 2nd 12 x 12 album of the 3 of them.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me which kind of pen is best for journalling please? I don't normally add journalling I tend to add a note on the back of the page but I am getting brave lol. Thank you.

Thanks Jude...I will take a look.

Linda, I use either a black gel pen or, very strangely but it works, a fine pen meant for writing on CDs. I also journal on the computer. My trouble is being too garulous, I don't know when to stop Lol!!

Cheshiremaid Report 30 Nov 2010 00:08

Many thanks Ann. Lol that is also my problem... so much to say in so little space! I have bought some journaling tags and stickers so it is going to be a challenge lol. I expect I will still add notes on the back of the page!!

I use the Lucida handwriting font in my family history albums..which I love and it seems to work really well on the pages.

Hi everyone
Sorry not to have been on before but with work and dreaded house**** I have been busy.
The album is 12 x 12 as I thought it would be easier to work with.
Spent another £20 on lettering and card yesterday. Won't be able to do anymore til the weekend though as OH around.
Thanks for all the encouragement and tips.
