The rate it's coming down now I think the dog will need stilts in the morning to go out lol.Good thing that the birds can fly on to the feeders and not have to plough through the snow :-D |

Well I think we had about 4 to 5 inches of snow.It seems to be thawing now ,but I reckon it will remain quite deep on the lawn for a while especially if it freezes. The Birds have all come out now and are flitting around feeding and singing. The 2 Wood Pigeons are loving it up on the trellis again ;-)The lonely little Moorhen has been as has the Gt Spotted Woodpecker. |

Here in Berkshire we had about 7cm but through the day it is melting as we have had +2C. Just hope it doesn't freeze tonight it will be like a skating rink. |

We've just been visited by a group of Redwings, I counted 18 in the apple tree but there are probably more. It's years since I last saw any of those in the garden here at Chelmsford. |

How lovely, the last time I saw Redwings was in the early 70s when we lived in Great Baddow. |

Actually I live in Great Baddow about 200 yards from the Chelmsford boundary. Recent years have seen a nearby farm and allotments replaced by housing estates which seems to have reduced the variety of birds we see. |

We used to live in The Westerings off Vicarage Lane which was then (don't know about now, behind the large car park and field that belonged to Marconi where OH worked. We had dutch Elm all down the side of the garden, we moved before the disease took hold. |
