The Pigeons like to keep practising and it keeps them warm this time of the year :-D :-D :-D

I spotted a pair of wood pigeons 'displaying' in the trees - well one of them was, the other flew off LOL They do look comical. :-0 :-D

I'd lurve a hot summer. The reclining chairs will be rotted and rusted before we've had our quota of goes in them! They were bought with the idea of lying back in comfort to admire the night sky in Wales. How many times have we done that? :-| :-| :-| :-| Don't ask!

I swear that the birds all send out messages "Bird watch weekend stay away from gardens",

Snow, just got in and the rain is very cold and lots of it lashing down.

Morning all:)

l hope to do the count tomorrow, Vic will be on a ramble. Madoc will hopefully be on our bed which means he won't be running to the door and frightening the birds away!!

Just been watching the parakeet, it was squawking from the top of a very big fir tree.

Island...sorry l still have two photo's to get onto my blog, the blog has a new set up, must go and have another try...oops!

Sitting counting the birds now.

Guess there aren't too many around this morning !!

AnninGlos Report 29 Jan 2012 10:43

Fewer than last year and not a single starling. A man from RSPB on the radio said there will be fewer birds in gardens this year as they are still out in the fields because of the milder weather.

LindainBerkshire1736004 Report 29 Jan 2012 11:38

All done and sent off.
Not many here either Ann. We saw redwing yesterday but not this morning. No chaffinches, starlings or the waxwing that we had in abundance last year.

Like you say think there is more natural food around at the moment.

Still definately like the feeding station, so that was a great gift.

We did have 2 greenfinches, 4 goldfinches, one chaffinch, 2 blackbirds, 1 wren, 5 house sparrows and a pied wagtail plus a collard dove and a wood pigeon.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 29 Jan 2012 16:04

Well nothing exotic - no flamingo's or pelicans.

But I did have 13 sparrows, 4 greenfinches, 6 chaffinches, 2 collared doves, 1 robin, 2 bluetits, and 3 marauding jackdaws.

I thought the other day that it's many years since I saw a bullfinch - does anyone have them?
Maybe they don't frequent North Wales.

Tec.
