Dave my 14y old son has been bully'ed most of his school life he now has no faith and no love of school this year I decided to home school him because he is a smart kid but just can't get or keep him in the school ground he'd made himself sick so he didn't have to go missed so much school last year that they couldn't asscess him for the next year level. he is so hard on himself gets into dark moods where he feel's he can't do anything right. Iam sure from what you have said that you can give me advice or idea's on how I might help him cope. it is getting better but like this weekend he has just started air forces cadets and love's it got his uniform of friday night all smile's but on the way home we hit and killed a kangaroo and her joey $2000 damage to car (insured thank god) but he blames himself (I was driving) but now he do'snt won't to go.I'll have to make him go as it's part of his home schooling but am i doing the right thing ? we were very upset as we sometimes look after joey's who's mum's have been killed would love your advice thanks |

Oh Irene, that is sad, both that you had the accident, and that the Roo and joey lost their lives but also that your son thinks it means he shouldn't go again. Maybe you can talk him into going cos he might learn things there that would help you when you try to raise the joeys you find, or that he might learn enough to invent something to stop the roos going on the roads? Is there any way you can explain that sometimes fate takes a hand in deciding things and we don't have any control i.e. that the animal came out in front of you and you couldn't help but hit it. Other times we have choices, like whether to do something or not, but this time it was not your choice to make. Maybe the roo wasn't too well or strong and wouldn't have been able to raise the joey so fate/God decided it should go to a safe place where it wouldn't suffer. Can you explain Rainbow Bridge to him, where the pets go when they die, so they can wait for their owners to join them, all whole and happy when the time comes. Then say there is a sort of Rainbow Bridge for roos and wild animals too where they can roam safely? |

thank's liz darren's a bit better today gone to work with dad so he can go see his friend's at the e cafe after school. he is very old for his age and belive's in life after death and recarnation? or that we move on from one world to another. we have load's of pet's I think it was a knee jurk reaction because he has helped me care for joey's in the past they are just like baby's three hour feed's and this one died in my arm's (I'd die without my pet's they keep me sane lol) I think that he's alittle scared of failling so any excuss is a way out and yes he had his first cooking lession at home he cooked tuna cass and it was great so that made him feel better .Now I better go oh will be home soon and Ive been on computer all day insted of doing that dirty word u know the one that start's with H**** W*** orP**** W*** hug's to all (well have been doing alittle PW on ancestry not the kind of PW he want's me to do) |

Hi gang - how are we all today - I think I have finally recovered from my shop till you drop outing last Saturday - takes a long time to get over it when you're so old!! Nice story about the spiritualist lady called Nell - I certainly would not discount such happenings cos after all, no one really knows now do they. Poor little Roo and Joey - they are such lovely animals. I'm sure the Air Cadets will do a power of good by the way. |

Well I have had my dressing changed. A bit depressing because there is a small amount of inflammation round part of the scar. Sister says if it is still there on Friday she will ask my GP if she should take the stitches out early rather than waiting until Tuesday which will be two weeks. she thinks that is too long to leave them in as stitches start to get 'irritable'. (I know how they feel!) |
