I know Caz will be in bed by now. I have seen three different gp's and not one of them has looked at my legs, let alone my knee.
The one I normally see is off on maternity leave, but there's a new one so I might try and get appt for him.

Christine, we're all allowed to moan hun.
We're hear to listen to you.

Sorry have not been on as much. Playing granny to 20 chickens just hatched is hard work.

Very shocked that Gill has left, if you are looking in Gill you will be missed. Loved your hugs.

Carole, when do you leave, any room in your bag for an extra 80 kilo???

Be back later.

Morning everyone, it's a lovely crisp autumn morning here, sunshine and blue skies, wonder how long it will last.
Vicky I am shocked that not one of your doctors have looked at your knee, please make an appointment with the new one and ask him to look at it, you can't be expected to put up with it.

Has anyone heard from Gill, I don't know what happened but I hope she is alright.

Also thinking of Deanna, I haven't heard how she is doing last couple of days.

Love and hugs to everyone.

Elaine sorry that hubby is not well and I hope they can find a solution for him. It is worrying for you I know but he is in the right place. You look after yourself, if you are poorly you wont be able to get to see him. I do hope he feels better soon.

Hi everyone. Glad the tabs helping a bit Caz, and you're not having nasty side effects.

I gonna ring tomorrow for an appt.
I was up early this morning, and limped down to the local co-op to get bread and milk for the kids coming, but it was a lovely crisp morning, and I enjoyed the walk, as I had been in all weekend.
Just waiting for the council to come to collect the sound recording equipment, so will see what they say. Not expecting any miracles. They've just rung to say they're sending somebody now.

Afternoon all,

Elaine, sorry to hear that your hubby is so unwell.Hope he picks up very soon.
Caz, wish that your pain meds. could be sorted a.s.a.p.
Vicky, I was thinking of you yesterday, when a neighbour a couple of doors down had a drum band playing the same old drum roll over and over.We had to laugh, because she is an awful snob, has always looked down on other people in the street, saying how loud their music is sometimes etc., and now had that racket going on in her own house!.Actually, this street has changed beyond all recognition since 'certain elements' have been given the old heave ho.My next door neighbours because they had a cannabis factory in their garage and attic.I had no idea that they were doing this, didn't smell a thing, but the woman I mention here, said she knew all about it, was just about to phone the police.Mind you, this was a couple of days after they were turfed out.Easy to be wise after the event!Have lovely neighbours now.It is so nice to hear the little ones playing in the garden. In dry weather, I throw their ball back an x times per day, normal people thus.
Gail, wish that I could play granny to chickens!
Ann, thank goodness you have contact with Gill.It is sooo horrible how some gang up on weaker people. In the wild, sick, thus weaker animals are picked on by others too.Seems like it happens on GR too.Thank God this thread is still a safe place, or will certain 'nasties' start picking on us soon? Worrying!
Deanna is sorely missed by all of us, she is such a nice, kind, funny person. I miss her too, but also for a selfish reason.

Love to all.

Sorry, but I missed a lot when I was off, but can't recall Gill. Take it certain people were making snide remarks. Would like to wish her and everyone else who is having problems the very best.

Eileen, there's one in every street like that. My neighbour is so far up her own a..e. lol

(((hugs to all)))

If Deanna has any money they want to start shifting it round pretty soon or they will end up paying through the nose for or going without things they might otherwise get for nothing.

We have carers three times a day because my dad has nothing. His cousin who has also had a stroke but did very well on buying and re-selling his council house, has too much money in the bank to get any of this free.Rather than re-distribute a bit round the family or make a contribution his wife, at nearly eighty herself,is wearing herself into a wreck by doing it all. He doesn't even have an electric wheelchair so she pushes him everywhere.

I understand saving for a rainy day but I do wonder how much rain they are expecting.

I have sciatica at the moment because I hurt my back yesterday putting my dad to bed with the hoist.I dread to think what his cousin's wife, who has children my age, must be suffering, all for the sake of saving a few bob!

Vicky, I won't even go into details about that 'odd woman'. Wierd is a better word.Have come accross a lot of people like her, both men and women.I have no time for them whatsoever. There are sooo many nice, normal, decent folks around. They are far more important.Am very sorry to hear that you are having such a terrible time with your neigbours though, especially as you are far from well.
I recieved nothing when my aunty lived in my house. The poor love needed 24/7 attention, as she could not really move anymore, but we only got a 'nurse'(not always, just a helper) to come now and then to wash her. It was a very difficult time the poor little mite, God bless her. It still hurts to think about that terrible time.

It's a shame that so many retired people saved for private pensions, as they are paying for it now, by the government penalising them. Just as well to spend what you have as you say Eileen, cos you get thanks for having money in the bank.

A friend of mine cared for her hubby who suffered from MS for 20yrs and manged to work part time when he was first diagnosed, but gave up work to look after him when his condition worsened. She said the lack of support for carers is terrible. I must agree with that, as I have seen this from many people. She said when a nurse was supposed to come in to help him at night, it was sometimes a young girl with no nursing training, who wouldn't have a clue.
I'm interested in finding out what the new rules for IB are, and how they will affect me.

Claddagh

Claddagh Report 27 Oct 2008 17:31

Vicky, too true, use your money- If you have it.I didn't/don't, but that was not the point, the so-called nurses were not that, most were just girls with no nursing experience at all. We needed those who could lift her properly.get her showered and dressed, something I could not do, due to my physical state. Most of the girls/women were very nice, kind people, but one was sooo nasty, kept on at my aunt for not speaking Dutch, kept saying. "these people who come into our country, but can't be bothered to speak our language".It infuriated me, but I kept schtum.Poor auntie was almost deaf, in spite of her hearing aids, suffered badly from tinnitus, and had a horrible neurological condition, which eventually caused her not to be able to move at the end. But, she understood what the b***h was saying.
Have tried to stop thinking about those horrific last years of my auntie's life, tried to get rid of the anger, at the way some doctors and so-called helpers treated her.Not all, just a handfull, which was too many back then, but it is like fighting windmills.

Hi all, I am so sorry I forgot to put a message on from our Betty, she mailed me yesterday to say she was thinking about everyone, well I think it was yesterday - haven't looked back further so maybe it was Saturday and I did put it on here. My brain is so fuddled with all that is going on and will explain some of it later on when all is sorted out.
Anyway Betty wants you all to know she is thinking of everyone and sending her love, bless her. Things are just ticking over for her with her son and daughter, and have to hope S keeps taking his medication to stay ok.
love and hugs
