Claddagh Report 24 Oct 2008 23:03

Was off to bed hours ago, but got sidetracked by the new (internet) scrabble game that my friend in England found, you always think, just one more word... and, by some very confusing mails from my daughter in France. It was to do with names....she was talking about Sheila being a lovely woman, I thought she meant the Sheila we rented a house in north Wales two years ago in november, but she meant my friend Sheila.....gawd, names. I though it was confusing enough on here with the Caroles on here.

Will say good night everyone.

Hi to everyone. Welcome to CarolB.

Not added to this thread for a while, but just thought I would say hello and give you all big hugs, only if I can get a hug back.

Had my grandsons this week, and they're away home now, and I'm feeling a bit down.

Glad to hear that Deanna is doing well, and still thinking of Y.Caz Lynn, Daff etc. :0)))

((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))

Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 25 Oct 2008 04:55

Hi all, especially to my 'Sis' Carolb, glad you are keeping in contact with us, love, at this even more difficult time for you - you have been in more thoughts more than usual this last few weeks.
To Gillie, hi and welcome, and to all who have posted lately, and those who haven't, I send love and hugs as I try to send positive thoughts to you too.
Vicky, sorry you are low now your little meccano engineers are gone, bless them, and hope you will feel more cheerful soon, will try and talk with you soon.
Eileen, apologies for not getting in touch, so much going on and I can't keep up, have found some more relatives I am trying to fit into the tree and also been doing some looking for o.h.'s family while his dad is still around to give any info he can. Think I have been lucky with o.h.'s late mum's rellies so might give him some people he can talk to about her maybe, it seemed to be gone and forgotten as far as his Dad was concerned, they didn't seem to keep her in their lives once she had died. O.h. has no photos of her, altho his sisters have and I asked them to get him a copy but it hasn't happened. Seems an odd family to me! Thought mine were bad enough lol

Had a quick pm from Betty to say she was busy trying to pay bills, but bless her, she sent me some funny jokes that had me giggling, better not put them on here but maybe Betty will another day.

Nlp (which Betty read the other day as nip and wondered why I was going to nip lol) is a bit wierd, think it is going to take me a while to understand it as I don't do visualisations very well but will give it a go and the chap is ok who does it with me so must make an effort.

Better get off here and catch up with more threads and such, otherwise I have no idea what is going on, kicking off or just happening on the boards.
Oh, before I go, last night I went to see my friend (and her daughter who has been here for over a week), from Germany, my friend came here in September, been here 6 weeks and we only managed to meet up three times and one of those at Liz's funeral. They go back on Monday, wish we could have spent more time together but never mind, will stay in contact as always by email and phone.

Catch you all later today maybe, have a good w/e everyone, if you can.
love
Lizxxx

Morning Elaine and Gill
Glad everything went alright Elaine, you can start to relax a bit now, he is doing well if he was eating his supper, he will soon get his strength back and be home before you know it. Remember how quick last week went. I'm like you with the tea and I've nothing to worry about, just can't sleep and keep waking up, I should say no-one to worry about sorry.
Hope you can get some rest this weekend, you will need it when he gets home.

Fran Report 25 Oct 2008 11:12

My stars! etc etc

I had no idea that depression was such a widespread thing!

8 years ago whilst walking in town with my husband i started to shake and cry........ one visit to the quack later and I was on Citalopram.

I'd been almost abusive to my son, argumentative etc and didnt realise what was wrong.

Even on 40mg a day I still get headaches and what have you if i get REALLY stressed. But I'm pretty much ok now.

Keep Smiling. It will make people wonder what you've been up to!

Carole

Carole Report 25 Oct 2008 11:21

Hi Fran, a few of us on here have a citalopram club!!
Welcome to the club! I have been on it about 14 mths now. I know if I forget to take it for a day or two. I don't get anywhere near as many head aches as I used to. I think it suits me better than prozac and all the other stuff I have been on. Although diazapam is nice, gives me a zombie like feeling
and makes me feel floaty!

xx

Fran

Fran Report 25 Oct 2008 12:00

OO Yuck, I couldnt be like that. I told the quack from the outset that i did NOT want anything remotely addictive.

Thanks for the welcome tho' Tink, nice to know I'm not alone.

We still dont know what caused my drop into the hole, could have been a mix of lots of high emotional stuff. Guess I will never know, but at least I know I have a brain that doesnt work properly!

Sharron

Sharron Report 25 Oct 2008 14:13

Sorry, ranting again. Dad noticed the wheelchair was snatching to the right a bit sometimes when he was out so I called the engineers.Apparently there was nothing wrong, indeed it was not possible for there to be.

Today,he was up the road with his mate and the wheelchair threw out the drive which would not go back in.He had to be pushed home. The wheelchair will only go backwards.

Having just rung the same engineer it seems that one of the motors is seized and I now have the old man in a manual wheelchair until further notice.

GODDAMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fran

Fran Report 25 Oct 2008 15:09

No! that is insane. Poor man.

Hope that engineer gets the heave! miserable osd!

Sharron

Sharron Report 25 Oct 2008 16:24

You have to remember that my dad has had a stroke. He lost his speech completely for a while and consequently does not have the same power to express himself anymore.

I was not with him when it started to behave oddly so I could not explain to the engineer. My dad did his best but,of the things that could be wrong,we did not actually get the engineer to the correct one.

Sorry, I am hi-jacking this thread I feel.I have not had depression for a long time and really I am coping.I just need a place to let off sometimes.

Most of you have far worse things to deal with than me and I do wish you all the best.

Now,I am going to eat some gherkins. As soon as something winds me up I am in the pickle jar.

Thanks for listening.

YorkshireCaz Report 25 Oct 2008 16:47

Sharron you reminded me of the time I had the engineer up to mine, which is a manual one. I had been finding it harder to propel myself until I thought I had better get it checked out. He came and took it all to pieces, said there was nothing wrong, and it was in rather good condition. Then he asked me if I was having trouble with my hands and arms, oh Lor did I feel stupid, my arms were getting weaker. It was the beginning of my fm starting but I didn't connect it and thought my chair needed oiling or something.

Hi Fran, welcome, there are a lot of us about, depressives I mean not loonies like me.

like i tell the kids at school when they moan that somebodys called them 'weird'

ALL the best peole are weird/loonies

and I bet u went red over that! looking back it must have been a moment to make you smile. (i have a warped sense of humor too!)

YorkshireCaz

YorkshireCaz Report 25 Oct 2008 17:51

LOL Fran, I was embarassed but it is funny to look back on now. I am not a loony really I am just an individual that does stupid things from time to time. A friend on here had me down as her clown, partnered by her dog of all things, for her pantomime when she gets it written. Sorry Joyce P cannot do it now.
