Benjamin Report 14 Jun 2008 11:14

Yes I had a good trip and can virtually confirm that Thos Roberts was indeed the father of my great, great gran who was born just before her parents married.

Its quite simple that Thomas was courting with Mary Ann Walder when his wife was ill and dying and when she died whilst Mary Ann was pregnant, Thomas was free to meet up with her again and to marry her and be reunited with his child.

He did then christen her as his natural child once he wed her mum and there is no way he'd baptise her as his if she wasnt and there is no way he'd take on and pay to bring up someone elses child if he relied on parish expense to bury his own son who died as a baby because he was poor. I have asked for other genealogists opinions and they all reckon he had to be the genetic father. I think becuse of my ocd it is one of these doubting and ruminating things again.

White Nancy.... don't go saying silly things like that again.

You are VERY important, and all our worries and pains are most important to ourselves.
Your pains and worries ARE you... do you know what I mean?
What I am trying to say... badly.. is that you are a very important person and your worries are also important.. so if you need to talk, we are all here.
YOU never need to take a pain killer when I have a headache.... and viceversa. I'll make it as clear as mud for you ,if it takes me all day!! ;-0)
It is a lovely thread where we can feel wanted... so no more talk of 'inferiority' OKAY??

JOYCE.......... you are back. How have you been love? Better I hope.. miss you when you are not here.... I have been fine really, and on and off here often too quickly.
I have not really had the time to sit and have a chat.... too busy talking elsewhere... ;-0( you know what I'm like.. all mouth!!

Sue... if forgetting celebrities names... what you had for dinner yesterday... the names of flowers.... or telephone numbers is a bad sign..... I'm in a bad way Sue.
And as for telling you if you turn ga ga.... how the h*ll would I notice???
This is me Sue... the resident idiot!!
Chin up girl, we are all going to be fine. X

It is really chilly today, don't you think so?

Well I am going back into the room to sit in a nice cosy comfy chair, and listen to my radio.
I am reading a lovely book, but it is too heavy for me to hold.... do any of you mind that hardbacks are too difficult to hold?

anyway.. love to all.

thank you for all your kind words of support. let me explain a bit about myself which will help put things into context. I am 40 i grew up with a strange sense of being different but never understanding why i can remember looking through the family papers to see if i could find evidence that i was adopted. my mum left my dad in 1978 so i grew up in an all female household which was unusual for the time. desperate to find the loving family i never had at 17 i met my 1st husband (who in hindsight turned out to be very domineering) i had 2 children in 93 & 95 and by the age of 3 my son had been diagnosed with learning disabilities. This turned out to be a turning point for me as i suddenly realised that i had the same problems Dypsraxia ) as my son this spelled the bigin of the end for my marriage my husband couldn't cope with the fact that his son & heir was not perfect and too boot his wife was going round telling everyone she had a problem too! he started becoming obsessed with my friends he did the big confession on 1 who rejected him 2nd he left me for the week before xmas when that didnt work out i took it him back but before long he started hitting on friend number 3 (he is now married to her). I took the kids and went to stay with my sister 150 miles away and eventually got my own place nearby.
by the time i left my 1st hubby what little self confidence and belief was in tatters. That was just over 4 years ago and since then my life has moved on in so many positive ways i met and married a fanatic guy who is everything i always wanted in a partner and I am just about to finish a college course, but despite all the good things going on in my life i cannot get rid of all those fears and anxieties that have plagued me for so many years

Whitenancy

Whitenancy Report 15 Jun 2008 16:25

My sister also suffers from severe depression and misuses alcohol. My mum very rarely ring to see how i am she ring me when she cant get hold of my sisters and even calls me by my sister name.

I have tired to help my sister on numerous occasion but have got to the point now that i dread talking to her and spend my time wondering what her next crisis will be

Carol thank you for your PM and thoughts and prayers. I also hope your mum and dad are doing well now that your dad is home.

My dad is not much better, but hanging in there, in hospital. I am flying to my daughters at the weekend and will be away for a few weeks, baby is due at the end of the month. Dad was not happy when I told him I was going away, I know he needs me as well and have been very torn. But I have put off leaving for the past two weeks and cannot leave it any longer.

If I can get my laptop connected while away I will let you know when the baby arrives.

Hugs to all of you and try to keep well.

Gail

PS Carol I also enjoy your funny E-mails
