Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 12 Jun 2008 02:21

Hi Kathy, sorry I have probably missed you.
I am trying to catch up with all that has gone on in the past 12 days since I went on holiday, the days went be very fast and sadly the weather didn't perk up till this last Sunday when I met up with Muffy, and we nattered for a couple of hours at a cafe by the beach. Have you managed to get to your beach yet?
I didn't realise how warm it was and got really sunburned in a few places, so have been bright red since then and didn't help it any when I sat out on a sunlounger on Monday afternoon - completely private garden so I bared more than I usually do and got those bits red too lol Not painful tho and I do have some colour now, but I know it isn't the sensible way to tan, even tho it isn't a good idea to tan anyway but with fake stuff lol

Sue M, I can understand your shock and dismay at being told this latest info (well, Nov 06 is not latest ) but I am glad you can keep a sense of humour and put the possibility to the back of your mind. I too struggle with finding the right word now and then, more and more really, but put mine down to age and tiredness from the fm etc. I can only suggest continuing to eat healthily and to keep your brain exercised with puzzle mags etc as apparently this helps keep the mind stimulated and on track. A big hug for you anyway for telling us about what is happening to you, or what might happen. I think there is no use stressing yourself about it as that will just make things worse so treating it as you are doing, with humour, is the best way forward.
Lots of luck to you,
Missed everyone on the threads while I was away but did meet some nice people during my stay on the coast.
Love
Lizxxx

Just read all the posts since I went away and want you to know I am sending positive thoughts, hugs and love to everyone who is struggling, some doing better than others at the mo but we all know how there are highs and lows.
I start my counselling again next week but I haven't heard from the counsellor who said she would call before I went away about some cognitive behaviour therapy . I do feel she doesn't alway cope well with all she has to do so sometimes feel let down.
I have to say I was very good on holiday and hardly bought anything, or spent much, so haven't added too much clutter. Did buy some more flipflops, with sparkly bits on, just had to have those, and bought a couple of books but read them and left them at the cottage for others. I bought one remnant of fabric, another of my 'things', red voile with gold painted pattern on to cheer somewhere or something when I get my house straight or will make a nice stole on warm evenings. I got a lovely charcoal sketch in a frame, from a charity shop, of trees and ducks on water, which sort of sums up the area where we stayed, there is a big duck pond but the ducks wander all over the village, I followed one with her ducklings, they were so cute and waddled ahead of me along the pavement as I took photos. There are also lots of trees around, everywhere was very green and it is near the Norfolk Lavender fields and shop. I got a Chocolate Mint plant there like MaxiMary's, and also was given by someone I was talking to in the village, a dark maroonypurple Oxalis, so hope it won't die on me. O.h. bought me two terracotta hanging planters in different sizes, painted lilac so will put the new plants in them and hang them up.

Got taken out for dinner three times and two lots of fish and chips from the local chippy so not too bad. Did get away a couple of times to meet with people off here and had the afternoon to myself today, Weds, after I had packed all my things into the car ready for home. As we took two cars, he went earlier with a lot of things as he had to go into work at 2, we stayed an extra night at no cost, as the weather was still nice but it is cold and dull now in Norfolk, yes I know it is night, but not been such a warm day and forecast not so good.
I was hoping to have the w/e to myself while he went to his son's 40 odd miles away for Father's Day but he is saying he is too tired to get ready and get the train etc on Sat morning. I keep telling him his son will be sooo disappointed lol, and so will I if he stays home lol
Will catch up with you all tomorrow, still haven't unpacked everything from the car and washing etc to do tomorrow.
love
Lizxx

Hello everyone,

Haven't been posting for quite some time, but do pop in to read all the messages. My heart goes out to all of you with your troubles and ill health.
I am very sorry to hear about your problem Sue, it must hurt a lot, even though you try to make light of it.
Waveyone, I can understand what you mean by reliving the details of your husband's death.I still have this with my beloved aunt's death in 2006, it haunts me.
Good to hear that you had a nice holiday Liz, you sound all 'bright-eyed & bushy-tailed' again.
To all of you struggling with whatever private worries, health issues etc.I wish you a sun-filled, worry-free month ahead.
I am in a deep pit at the moment, have been for weeks now, too much going on, that I find it hard to put into actual words.

Thank you Ann, am trying hard to 'climb out', but keep losing grip, so slide back down all the time.Bad news about my eldest, badly handicapped daughter, health problems with youngest daughter and her 3-month old baby, makes everything else pale really, but they are still lurking in the corner of your mind all the time, aren't they? I bet many of you recognise this.
S.W is there a good cattery near to where you live? I used to take my ancient cat to a really good one, where she got a lot of extra attention. It is not daft at all to feel like that about a much-loved pet.

Jeannie, we used to take our cat to the cattery in Buttermilk Lane Churchdown where they were very kind to her. I don't know what the are like now as they have changed hands. You could call in and have a look round to see if it would be OK.

Hello all, I've not been up long, went for a lay down after dinner and fell asleep.
I rang my doctor on Monday and she has put my Tramadol up to the top dose, with Nurofen it makes it a little easier but not much. By the way, thanks Deanna for putting it on for me.
Christine I have read your experience with councellor and feel for you. It was a bad start to something that should have been the beginning of healing. Don't let it put you off trying again, a few of us have had, or seeing councellors now and it does work. Could you go back to your doctor and explain to him, if he does'nt know he can't help you.
Tina, I don't know what to say, it's difficult as everyone is different, what would be right for one will be wrong for the next person. You must put yourself first now, and keep posting because we are all here for you.
Sue it's nice to see you back, don't worry about memory, I gave my hubby a tray yesterday and asked him to put it in the freezer to warm up. Couldn't work out why he was laughing, he asked me which freezer and I pointed to oven and it still didn't click.
Love and hugs to everyone else, I have only read last couple of pages so I have a lot of catching up to do.
Oh Angela I hope everything went all right for you.

Today I needed to talk to the doctor about my dad. While I had her on the line I mentioned the narcissism article and the fact that so many had identified with it and that we all thought we were alone.Of course I couldn't find it to direct her there so I printed it off and took a copy to the surgery.
We shall see if anything developes.

Christine you did it!
You opened up and talked. It often helps. But thank you for your kind words. Others can only do so much it's you who has to do all the hard work, and sometimes talking can be so hard xx

Elaine you are doing so well. I was worried for you but you will come through. It's a lot to cope with but if you can do this you have proved to yourself you can do anything xxx

Sharron I took that document to my dr as well. He sat and read it all while I was there with him. He said it was very interesting. Also took it to psychologist and she agreed it was what is at the root of my problem. xx

Angela are you looking in? Hope you are okay. xx

What are you all doing today? Thinking of each of you xxx

I found a few burials which were paid for by the parish expense at that time. This was in Brighton.

Morning Elaine, it is also my favourite time of day, it is lovely here and the trees are full of birdsong. My hubby has his long weekend off work so I am hoping for some heavy housework to be done, not good for him but I can't do it. The pain in my back is improving I'm glad to say but the slightest movement to bend is awful in my hips. I am hoping I will soon be back to my normal self, sorry I have been so miserable lately.
Ben, you did well with your trip, I wish I could get out and about looking for my family. I enjoy helping other people though, I have three on the go at the moment, how I don't get them mixed up I 'll never know but so far I haven't.
Hope you all have a good weekend.
