Hope everythings ok Eileen.

Sue I hope your finger is healing I haven't seen you much lately.
Are your wrists any better Deanna, it's awful being in pain all the time isn't it.
It's our 24th anniversary today so hubby is going out for a curry for us soon instead of cooking, lovely.

Caz, congratulations on your anniversary. I have noticed that people don't post on here so much at the moment. Hopefully that means nobody is needing our support so that will be a good thing. Hope you enjoyed your curry.

Liz, i am sure that is a large job you have undertaken. Is it nearly finalised now?

Gill good luck with your appointment tomorrow we will be thinking of you.

Hello folks. I've been busy in the garden for half the day, and nursing joints I didn't know I had for the other half. Had a garden expert here (free) today and she gave me some interesting news, that pesticides will not be allowed in this province as of jan 1st next year. we have to go organic whether we like it or not. I just about had a stroke thinking about the dandelions which are currently in control of my garden. They suggest corn gluten meal in spring and autumn, stops weed seeds from germinating. A month later to overseed with a specific type of grass seed which works best in this area.
She wasn't much help otherwise (what did I expect for free?LOL), but assured me I have my work cut out for me. news flash - I knew that and am trying baby steps.
had another experience today - I listed a fancy little girl's dress on freecycle. and a small computer desk. This fellow came over to get the desk and his fiance had already asked for the dress for their child. I waited to see what he was like before I decided about the dress.
he told me they are getting married in the autumn and their little girl wants a fancy dress for the wedding. So I gave him the dress, and he asked now what can I do for you? I said nothing thanks, I'm happy to give you the items. he insisted, saw I was digging in the garden, and offered to do some for me. I had to swallow my pride and agreed.
he finished the job for me so now my veggie patch is ready to go and I'll finish planting tomorrow. he refused payment, what a decent young man, and my garden is becoming lovely. he's coming back tomorrow to help me with my shade corner garden. isn't it amazing how things work out, i'd been nearly in tears with the physical strain of converting a weed patch into a garden, but was too stubborn to quit.
Along comes this angel in disguise and solves the problem for me.
My youngest granddaughter has spent an hour tonight sorting toys so she can give some to his little girl.
As you can tell,my mood is better tonight, got a bit of sun on my face, but am heading for the whirlpool bath to ease my joints.
My one disaster is that the 'heritage tomatoes' I planted in a portable greenhouse have keeled over and died. Apparently someone decided to put them outside yesterday while I was at work, and forgot to bring them in, we were just above freezing last night and they were frost-bitten. there's always next year - too late to plant more now.
meg's birthday was today and miniMary wanted to make her a cake. So she made 7 small loaves of choc cakes (gluten-free), sliced off the top to make a 'lid' and gouged out the inside, filled with Smarties and put the lid back on and iced the whole thing. Apparently the cakes were treasure chests. pretty good for an 11 year old I'd say. She told Auntie Meg that they were her present to her because a lot of love was used to make them! Profound child she is.
All in all, a good day, sending hugs to all, and special thoughts for those who are grieving.
Mary

Mary, what a wonderful family you have, those cakes sound lovely, I will want one when I come and see you lol

You know, you reap what you sow, well unless you leave things out in the frost, but with the freecycle thing, you certainly got a lovely payment didn't you? What a nice chap to help you out, maybe you and his family might become friends and help each other out in the future too.
You will have to ask for a photo of the wedding.

I am tired but have told o.h. I will not be pressurised on Saturday, I will get as much ready today and the rest will pack up and stick in the car as we get ready on Sat, then I know what we have, he never packs up the food or stuff just his own things, but that's ok cos then I can zoom round and pick up bits we need without wondering if he has already duplicated if you know what I mean. I am better at packing the car too, but told him if he wants he can pack the other car with some stuff and go ahead and I will follow when I am ready.
Will miss you all when I am away as the internet cafe I planned to use, is apparently closed down. One person I know in the town has said I can use their computer but obviously can only do a bit of checking up on mails on there, can't abuse the
offer. Whose bright idea was it to go away lol?
Love and hugs to all,
Lizxxx

Mary
Don't like the thought of being told that you have to go organic, I suppose that will be the next thing here!

So your good turn was returned to you amply. How wonderful for you to get all that digging done. and your little grandaughter is learning to give as well as receive, well done.

the treasure chest cakes sound lovely, very clever.

Liz, In case I don't 'speak' again to you, have a wonderful holiday/break. Did you get the other thing you were doing all sorted or is it to wait until your return?

Still very quiet on here so to everyone else Deanna, Joyce, Carole, YCaz, Betty, Eileen, Kathy, Kerry, Ben, Elaine, Sue, Gill, Wavyone, Jeannie, Carolina - (I am sure I have missed somebody so apologies if I have) I hope you all have a good day today and that the 'hurty' bits are bearable for you.

Morning all

The nurse had a long chat with me and decided that I didn't need to have the test after all.....between my last test and now she felt as no 'partner interests' have occured I could be spared that test.

phew.........I was soooo happy, couldn't wait to get out of the clinic incase she changed her mind.

Thanks for the positive thoughts.

ANN............. don't you dare write any of us off.... ;-0(
I need you all.
I have been taking a rest from my typing too much. My wrist is so painful, and believe it or not I am still suffering with it, although i really have been good.
I wear my band, and I don't come on here very much.... but have to admit to sneaking a look and usually adding something!! Can't help it.... I'm a nosey "£%^&*&.

Carolina, I know exactly how you feel.
I try to type one handed, but get frustrated and so hurt myself again.
Mine is just arthritis..

Eileen, will get back to you soon, and was so upset for you when you could not get to the hospital. They don't sympathise very much with us if we don't turn up, do they?

Caz, congrats on your anniversary.
Yes it is pretty bad, but there are many in this world with worse pain than I have at the moment..... and no piankillers. So I'm frustrated, but I'm fine thanks love... how are you?

Mary, aren't kids just wonderful?
I pity the ones who don't have the love of a nana like you.
A design star of the future I think... your mini Mary.

Carole, Liz, Betty, Bernie, Gill, Elaine..... sorry but i have to take a rest.
It took me FOUR GOES to spell ELAINE!

love yah all though! ;-0)

Gill, glad that was sorted for you without you having to go through the ordeal.

Deanna, i would not dare to write you off, I just miss you when you are not on here. And I don't think anything can be described as 'only' arthritis. Sorry you are still in pain with it. are you unable to take painkillers? did you see that book I recommended a few posts back. The Crystal skull by Manda Scott. It is really a good read.

Y Caz, can you please send me some of the curry and rice, I haven't found an Indian place - restaurant or take-away - where I'm living now. Quite deprived.
Someone started cutting down a tree at the house behind me, at 730 this morning, I planned to sleep till 930 (didn't go to bed till 230am) but no luck. heading outside early this morning, may rain later.
Have a good day all.

Thanks to all who wished me well.Caz, it does help a bit to let of steam, even though the bad things do not go away, do they? Anne, I would hate to tell my children what is making me panic and feel so sick. The daughter who lives two doors down, is struggling herself these last weeks.Mary, what a lovely, touching story about your g.daughter.That young man also sounds lovely. There are many, many good people out there, which make up for the nasties. Deanna, I did manage to go to for that appointment yesterday morning.Lucky most people were stuck too, with no public transport. It will continue torrow, then maybe stop for sunday, but next week it will be complete chaos.I drove myself this time.Hate going doing this, it is stressful at the best of times.Yesterday, it was bucketing down, thunder and lightening..I got lost, as usual,so was even later. The secretary is such a nice young woman, she said it didn't matter if people came too late, as long as they were there before 12.00, when the cardiologist leaves. My car starting to complain when I stopped near the hosp.so just gave some hiccups when starting it again to manoeuvre it nearer to the kerb.Same when I trudged back through the rain, soaked to the skin, it wouldn't start for some time. The air was blue with my colourful language.Managed to limp home, then it packed up altogether.Son in law had a look, he says it needs a new start motor.Same thing happened last year, it was pulled to a garage where they put new battery in, said that was the reason it wouldn't start.Of course it wasn't. The windows can't be opened because the electric somthing or other is broken...how I hate all-electric cars.Methinks there are some hefty bills on the horizon.
Grandson just came to thank me for getting the chewing gum out of his Jeans Liz, thanks for your idea to google for tips.
Have had to cancel another appointment for monday morning, this time with the urologist, because my youngest is coming after all this evening or tomorrow morning. She has mastitis, fever and is generally run-down.Her partner will go back to Amsterdam for a rest, then back to work for him monday.Baby Anna that ws born on Easter sunday, is not drinking well, didn't gain enough weight. This is very worrying. Will hear more about this this evening.

Well, this was only meant to be a short message, I get carried away sometimes.

Love to all and thank you for support.
