Eline, I know nothing about that drug but why are you frightened? Do you know something about it or is it just because it is new. Do you trust your doctor? I hope somebody else can advise you on this.

Gill, strangely for me I also feel down today. Just notices another little spot on the scar has started to bleed a bit. wondering if i should stop taking the dissolvable aspirin. Had to stop it for the op but no advice to stop it since. getting really fed up now at the time it is taking, over 4 weeks now.

Elaine I had propanalol for anxiety and was on a lot of other medication, I think the 'fear' is having to take yet another medication. As with all medicine if it makes you ill or even more nervous after a few days stop the propanalol and see Dr.

Ann you shouldn't be taking aspirin with any kind of open wound. I would have another word with Dr if I were you - the last thing you want now is your holiday put back coz of this.

Sorry if I sound sharp - it's me mood, I do mean things in a caring way ladies I've just got the hump thats all.

Take care

AnninGlos Report 28 Mar 2008 16:37

Gill, you don't sound sharp. The thing is, I don't think the Dr considers it an open wound. It is like two tiny pimples on the wound I think they are called Keloids the second one has only just started to bleed a little bit. The thing is I have always been anti taking the aspirin because I didn't have it prescribed for a specific reason. it was when the gov brought out all these things for doctors to prescribe with targets that my Dr said (after he had told me my BP was excellent. 'i think we'll put you on aspirin.' I had not had a stroke and my BP is fine with the medication. seems strange to me that they pump us full of meds we may not need.

I have had 2 mini strokes and take aspirin when I remember it, as I told my Dr I am not a number for govt targets I am a person, Aspirin thins the blood I just thought with any weak tissue whether it is a wound or not aspirin could make it difficult to heal.

Take care Ann, It was just a thought.

gill, your thought only echoed my own and I think I will not take the aspirin at least for a few days.

Just popping to say hi quickly, have to go to work in a few mo, also really down today, even when posting on Freecycle for some garden items such as perennials being divided, having been imaging how my blank slate of a garden would look if I act on my thoughts - once we get rid of the snow - another 4" last night, but seems to be melting quickly, temp above freezing point. I want some traditional British daffodil bulbs to plant this autumn.!!!!
Hugs to all, I am taking my meds and extra vitamin B6 and B12 but still feel just kind of worn out.
off to work, at home all w/e, hopefully I can pull myself up a bit.
Thanks Liz for the encouraging pm.
hugs

Big welcome to Eileen. Pleased you had the courage to join in with us all. I'm a bit worried that people need courage to join us though! Are we scarry? lol, Eileen what a horrible time you went through. My mum (also Eileen) brought me up in that stiff upper lip way, thats how she was expected to be by my dad. Now I don't talk to her about my depression she asks how I am very rarely, I just say I'm okay, cos she dosen't really listen to my answers. Hope you find us all supportful and understanding xxx

Some of the new people have escaped!! Search party will be out tonight if they do not register !!!
