I lost my mum many year ago-as some of you will know. And although I know NOTHING will ever replace my mum-I am on the look out for a CYBER mum-(she died 2 days after me giving birth to my daughter, went in a coma, and never came out) But I celebrate her life and think about her everyday and I look back now with happiness and not sadness-(11yrs ago)

So I would like to challenge someone on GR, to be my cyber mother-although you will never replace my real mother-you will have to fit a certain criteria though to qualify:and I will cherish you if you like me-(and I will be true and think of you and help in any way I can,not just for now either- just like a real daughter would do)

(although a few years give or take I won't mind)

Here's a bit about my mum:(born in 1929) Virgo on the 8th Sept-

She went on to have my brother , that relationship didn't last (1955) then me in 1966. she was a woman born beyond her time and loved young people, esp people who have problems, she was always there.

I'm looking for a fun loving person, but you have to be open minded, and nothing can shock you.

If you think you are that person or you can nominate someone then tell me why????????

I do have a special prize for my cyber mum-but I will keep that under wraps till I find out who or may it could be???????

Hoping you can help me!!!!!!!!!!!

thank you

I'd go for BC (Buttercup). Just because I think she's lovely, witty and a lot of fun.

Just know BC would fit the bill to be your cyber mum

She is fun loving(wacky really)
Good strong shoulders for having a cry on
Good at talking problems over.

And a brilliant person.

Don't tell I said all that, she won't be able to get through the doorway.

Catherine,

My suggestions are BC, a lady of great wisdom, Ann of Glos, a lady who cares so much, Germaine and Christine Clissold, ladies who have both qualities and Daff, who is so helpful and caring,

Also Ann of Green gables and Caz in yorks,

Catherine
I would willingly be your cyber Mum if you wanted me to. I sense you are serious about this and are asking for commitment. I am younger than your mum would be, I was born 1940 but I have a daughter who was born in 1961 and a son born 1967 so you slot in between the two.

I have always loved children and young people hence fostering and helping run youth clubs in the 70s and 80s and have always helped youngsters with their problems (was also a probation volunteer in the 60s/70s.) With two children, five grandchildren and having worked in a very large comprehensive school in the 70s, I am virtually unshockable, so yes I consider I am open minded.

I also have a lot of affection to give a cyber family, especially a cyber daughter. And I have a lotof respect for you too as a person.

Ann, your pms have been such support to me, I cant tell you how much.

I feel you are so very maternal and could be a cyber Mum to the lovely lady Catherine,

This thread is so lovely and poignant,

I love Catherine very much, she is my friend who helped me at a time that was very scary for me,for that i will always be thankful,
