ann you have got a real good point there hun.we have drug busts in our area,and when they get to court the stupid judges give um stupid sentances.so all the work the police do[and theres loads]the justice system fails us again.

unless we have a zero tolerance system it will carry on,but like i say......we pay the government to do a job,if they fail........which they have.........we sack um.no more mr nice guy.xx

Why should my taxes be used for people who self induce a habit with all the hype over recent years just how this takes control of your life and they still take no notice.and just keep on trying it and taking the stuff,,,,having little or no regard for themselves or any who it affects,,,,,,,,it aint my problem if someone chooses to become an addict,,,,,more fool them,,,,,,,

the sad thing with drugs is that it is very often vulnerable youngsters who are drawn into it by peer pressure

trouble is so many people are reliant on them now, and if they banned them alltogether they would be in a right mess, dont know really dont see anything wrong in cannabis supposed to help MS sufferers.

It is your problem. You pay extra in the shops to counter losses through shoplifting, you pay a higher percentage for policing through your council tax. You pay more (or get less) for NHS services because resources are spent on users. Your local authority will spend more on social problems than community projects for all I could go on....

But the kids today see it in magazines &,in other adverts just that happens when you are hooked and still they do it,,,,,,would they be willing to let someone inject them against their wishes with this stuff..... probally not,,but are willing to indulage themselves,,,,,,,,,,!!

I am taking about hard drug users,,,,,,,,,,,maybe next time they inject/smoke it wont do them any good,!!,,,,,,,,,,,,sorry but I hate drug use of any kind and certainly have not an ounce of sympathy for any addict who use them,,,,,,,,,,,

Coming a bit late, but I second what Maddie said on page two. I had a friend at college who was very bright, got fantastic GCSEs and AS Levels, then round his eighteenth birthday he got into smoking dope and whatever motivation he had seemed to disappear.

He got into this permanent attitude of "it'll wait till tomorrow", skipped a lot of college (and one of his alloted Art A Level exam sessions) and somehow still got better exam results than I did. He started further education college and dropped out after a week (smoking joints during breaktimes) and then got into university and dropped out.

I don't know what happened to him, but smoking that stuff seemed to drain away any motivation he ever had, which was a shame because on paper his exam results were amazing. And he also experimented with ecstacy and cocaine at some point.

No to drugs but then I drink alcohol and coffee both of which contain powerful stimulants / addictive properties...so who am I to judge?

DEFINITELY NOT WHY SHOULD THESE LAYABOUTS GET THEIR DRUG ON THE NHS, OR FREE, WHEN PEOPLE WITH LIFE THREATENING ILLNESSES HAVE TO PAY FOR THEIR MEDICATION.

SORRY IF I HAVE OFFENDED ANYONE, BUT AS MOST OF YOU KNOW, THIS IS SOMETHING VERY CLOSE TO MY HEART.

I have a friend who works in a chemist, and has to take so much sh.t off them when they go in for their methadone.
I would put them all on an island with their dealers, and let all kill each other for a fix.

Haven't read past pg 1, but Id say NOOO, they shouldnt. Druggies high on the stuff cause God know what problems, drugs can also cause psychosis, other mental health problems, and overdose. Why make it legal? If I find any of my 3 kids taking drugs I'll lock them in their bedroom til they've gone cold turkey.

Anyone needing drugs for genuine medication should see a Dr. all the others should treated for the addiction and get rid of all these street drugs and the cretins that push the rubbish.
