Well - the news is that Mum had numerous hernia's around the bowel area where she'd had surgery all those years ago - they had pushed through the muscle wall and then gone sideways between the layers of muscle ............. very unusual according to the doctor.

Also her gall bladder was involved and was turning gangreene (?sp) due to being twisted etc - they removed that of course - that is what was causing most of her pain.

She was quite bright when i saw her and not in any pain (yet) but has a large wound and will need at least 6 weeks of taking it easy once she gets home - not sure yet when that will be.
