Oops just started having problems

Just popped on to read but thought I would answer this one.

I wasn't locked out at all - strange that considering all.

had some probs last night saying page could not be displayed but got on straight away this am.

I was on here until gone midnight last night and signed in again about 10:30 this morning with no problems.

I'm with Virgin Media, I have pc and wireless laptop both of which I could get in on. I have xp on pc and vista on laptop.

I have had problems scince about 10ish last night till now getting on here. was starting to drive me mad. anyway seems to be sorted now. Hello everyone. Lynette xx

I must admit that we often have problems with virgin. i.e cant get online but dont think it would let me onto the other sites and not just this one if it was their problem. So to me itlooks more likely to have been a fault with GR itself.

I could not get on since late yesterday never had problem before. was not letting me on to the page at all even thou its in my favorites. back know thou. butttttt for how much longer?

Can get into Genes site but not into my tree...weird!!!

I am certain it has nothing to do with our ISP, either that or the most amazing coincidence happened, with BT, Tesco, Tiscali, NTL and Virgin, all experiencing exactly the same problem at exactly the same time...and only happining when trying to access the same site...GR...

I think it has to be GR really.............it will be interesting to hear any responses people get.

I'm with VIGIN MEDIA and I have been locked out all morning and into this afternoon.
Don't know about last night, because I was not on.

Went off last night and was still off this morning before 7. Thought I'd done something to make it disappear! So glad to have it back but pretty poor show on GRs part. I'm with Pipex homecall by the way.

These things happen, things do break down, it would just be nice to see GR owning up to it being their equipment, not ours.

I was posting yesterday. Left the computer - came back to post again after the rugby had finished and the site was unavailable. My ISP is plusnet. I had no other problems with any other site. This morning - unavailable. I went out. I tried again just now - working.


When this happened before, three years ago, GR posted a thread containing an apology and a statement that we would be given a week's extra membership. Perhaps this will happen again this time?

I do not particularly wish to use this site this afternoon, I did wish to use it at the other times when it was not available.

Other than the ancestry site, this is the only site to which I pay a membership fee. The working status of this site has been appalling recently.

I tried at about 11.30 last night but couldn't get on either here or Connections, but could get on any other site.

Think it must have been ITV's server lol

Joy as someone else said, the free week was given in the pre-ITV days...I can't see ITV doing the same thing to be honest.

Julie, not everyone did, only about 75% of us were locked out at any time. Depends which of their bank of servers you were logged in to.

Teresa..I wondered why it was so quite..i thought everyone was watching the rugby lol

My sky box died on me just as the rugby started, so I was in an undignified position sorting out various cables, making sure they were all connected properly, changing and testing fuses, phoning sky, booking the engineer to come out on Monday morning with a new box, the swapping all the cables round so we could watch the remains of the rugby on terrestrial TV, with its grainy rubbish reception. (the reason we got sky in the first place).

And comforting a terrified cat after fireworks went off right outside.

Didn't come of GR to do it though, if I had I might not have got back on it seems.
