I always remember the homeless.
The first cold night and i am worrying about them. they are in my mind a lot.'
the idea of not having a soft warm place to lay my head fills me with fear and horror.
We do send a 'little' gift of money at Christmas, bur are always conscious of how little our meagre contribution can do for them.
God bless them, I pray that I may NEVER be in their position and find it hard to take that in this country of ours ANYONE should be homeless.

LindainBerkshire1736004 Report 15 Nov 2008 21:07

Have been in touch with Shirley and Maisie and I am busy making jumpers, cardigans, mittens and scarves at present.
Went shopping yesterday to get some more wool as I have run low and hopefully can get some finished and posted early next week

I am wondering whether we should wrap up the presents that we have and put a label on the outside saying what is gift wrapped. Or would it be preferable to have them unwrapped and perhaps some wrapping paper tags and sellotape provided too?

I have never given to a homeless centre before.

Hello All. Yes I do remember the homeless Uzzi all the year round, I send parcels to a Homeless Hostel of clothes, for adults, and children.... also have been knitting for them as well and also sending woolen hats, mittens and scarves to orphanage in Romania/Bulgaria which is run by a British couple I have had contact with.
I hope that all these poor unfortunate people are now a lot warmer and I know that the Hostel I send to in this country they are well looked after by a lovely lady from these boards.
Love to all from Maisie

Thanks Uzzi
Yes I for one am aware that homelessness is there all year round, daughter works for YMCA and her friend with those fortunate to be in accomodation instead of street homeless more recently.

I am busy knitting all my spare wool presently and will try to get to a centre for families in need and will continue through the year as they always have folks who have been made homeless for many reasons.

Please do not get me wrong but this is nudged ( thankyou Linda) for the time of year it is.
Did we all forget the homeless throughout the rest of the year , do they not exist unless there is peace and goodwill about.
The homeless are cold in summer, autumn and winter they need your help regardless of it being Xmas easter or whatever.
If you think about them this year instead of saying it do something about it.
