Am I considered an oldie?
I was a member in November 2004, but took a while to pluck up the courage for the boards.

I never met her, but I remember Gaynor.
A lovely brave , funny lady.
I had all the photos of her at her wonderful day out in London.

The beautiful long limo, and the 'Pink message' on it.
Daisy with her huge daisy brooch.. and all of you with your hands grasping glasses full of *booze*. ;-0)
It was an exciting day even for those of us who could not go.

Then Pinks and all the things she organised to raise more money for the cancer fund.

I still have and use my book mark you sent me Pinks, but I lost all the pictures when my pooter died. ;-0(

Daisy is still around, but very busy just now.
SO.... do I qualify girls?

Hi Sue,
As one who has been "baited" in the past I would just say the best medicine to offer is non-committal, that is just ignore any abuse. It really is not worth getting involved with such people and these are, believe me, in the minority. I have been in contact with by telephone, e-mail and this year whilst in England actually met one nice lady. Yes, I was so happy at meeting this lady and being able to put a face to a name. There really are nice people here so don't be frightened off by the malicious few.
Sylvia xxx
I always use my own name and don't hide behind a fictitious name. Why should I, I haven't done anything wrong?

Hya and Waves~~~~~ to all that I have met.

I didn't mean that we were "Old" just olde members---if you see what I mean.
No I don't want any arguments and yes we did seem to know each other in the "Old " days, but then we move on.

I see quite a few of the early members on this thread - I have been around since Feb 2003 I think. We made some good friendships back then and I am still in contact with many of them. I do find all the name changes a bit confusing - but then I am easily confused.....

I have had some good contacts and have made great progress with my tree. I have made most progress with random searches for names - another one this week with a common gggrandfather. It is wonderful to exchange photos and certificate images to bring the names to life.

I expect I shall continue my membership but admit I rarely look at the chat and general boards these days.

I just looked at the early 'my threads' and found that I talked to Ann L about coroners inquests in the early days. I remember the excitement when I was actually able to help someone by looking for a report in the local newspapers and send the member the article. I was, and still am, a very novice researcher, but was so pleased to be able to help.

Hello to anyone who remembers me!

Elisabeth
(the only name I have had!)
