Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 28 Sep 2007 01:30

Hello Jean, are you new on here? There are several fm threads, so if you haven't seen them all, just type fibromyalgia in the search box and you can see how many of us here are affected.
You are lucky having a good husband, my partner won't understand how bad I feel some days and I have chronic fatigue syndrome too, and he allows his son of 26 to call me lazy!
His other son is moving from the U.K. to live in N.Y. at the end of November, he has his head full of ideas but doesn't have a job to go to yet. I also have a friend living in Scotia, N.Y.

Good luck with the knee replacement op - I am sure it will go well, I know several people who have had it done. I won't be surprised if I have to have mine done at some stage, I am 60 now and have had arthritis in both knees for several years.

Liz

hello,
I live in upstate NY. My doc tells me that fm has effected more women than men. There are 18 trigger points and I have 15. Sometimes just touching my skin hurts. I sometimes get burning in my lower back and right hip area. Lyrica helps with the burning.I also take a Carisoprodal for pain and spasms. Plus a few other Rx.
Athritis is an issue as well. This month I have to have a knee replacement. Not looking forward to that, that's for sure. When reading the post of other people, sounds like we are all pretty much in the same boat. Thanks for letting me know that I am not the only one who deals with fm. People look at you and see that your healthy outside. They have no idea what the inside is like. Good thing I have a patient husband. Take care and blessings to you all. If these are the golden years I want to know what's so golden about them. Ha Ha

just bin told by howie someone asked about pain in heads and if others suffered from pain near temples,

LL is was i think
when i was in hospital recently a blood test showed inflamed artery in temple this is comon in arthritis but can be treated with steroids ,
my boss asked me if i was given them but the hospital decided not to treat me with anything, suprise suprise,
anyway thought id let you all know in case you wana see your doc about it,
its called temparal arterialitis i think, and the vain can be seen pulsatiing in side of head,

i have had to issue a complaint today to hospital for lack of help and poor service in my treatment, hopfully they will now pull their finger out and find my notes

bad night sleep last night i say sleep, i lie i dont member sleepin much lmao,
tossed and turned up and down to bathroom, today my back and neck are aching

also that duloxetine LL is also called cymbalta, had a look in work, looks like it covers depression, hypertention, and few other things, inflamation

Thanks for this PussCat Am still taking the magnesium when I remember but think I should maybe be taking calcium with it altho article in magazine didn't say anything about it. I have been relatively pain free for a while, not 100% but bearable but wish I could sleep better. Since I got back from Wales have been feeling a bit fluey and am taking lemsips each night as I don't want to be ill when I go off to Malta.

will add while i remember
instead of citalopram which is used for depression and fibromyalgia a new drug thought to be better acting on the FM and neuralgia is working very well, its called duloxatine i have mentioned it on another thread but cant find it but i said i would update the pain is much more manageable i take that aswell as tramodol 100mg every 4 hours morphine liquid when its very bad, i would certainly give the duloxatine a go, i always thought i wouldnt try something awaiting licence but glad i have its the 60mg dose put this on now as i know a few of you dont sleep much with the pain xxxx love to you xx
