I'm going to Bristol next week and hope to come back with the venue sorted. Anyone else want to join us? |

Just a little suggestion, though it may be awkward for those who have other plans, there is a Harvester right on the doorstep of Bristol Parkway Station. It is easier to access from the motorway and there won't be too much walking to do. This would be more tempting for me than central Bristol! Marion |

There is a website to check out the two pubs near Bristol Parkway, one is the Parkway 0.0 miles from the station and has a rating of 7/10. The other is The Beaufort Arms which is a Harvester- 0.3 miles from the station and has a rating of 6/10. http://www(.)beerintheevening(.)com/pubs/show(.)shtml/2453/ Marion |

Just returned from weekend away and noticed the message re Bristol Parkway. This would suit me very well, much more convenient than Templemead. Don't know if there is a link from T Mead to Parkway for Marley. Ann Glos |

Drove past The Parkway(pub) this morning and it looks very nice from the outside. As you walk out of the station it faces you on the right. The other pub is just around the corner. Marion |

Harvesters usually have a good menu with a free salad included (usually, I assume this one would be the same). Ann Glos |

The Beaufort is a Harvester. It didn't get such a good rating as the Parkway but it needs someone to pay a visit first. I have found harvesters a bit expensive in the past with not much scope for veggies. But it is a long while since I've visited one. Marion |

Am about to email all of you who have said yes to 15 November - I'm going to Bristol on Thursday and hope to come back having found and/or booked somewhere suitable. I think there are 12-14 of us, but if you would be kind enough to reply to the email before Thursday I'll have a clearer idea. If anyone else is thinking of joining us let me know before Thursday please! Thanks! Sue |

How about making a sticker or badge from the GenesC logo in the left hand corner? Should be easy to save and print off. Marion |

Venue sorted! Jill and I went to The Parkway yesterday. Plenty of parking, plenty of room inside and the food should (hopefully) suit everyone. They don't take bookings, but have said that they will put some tables together to accommodate us provided we avoid their busy time of 1.15-2.15. We thought it would be better if we aimed for 12 noon and got our place in the alcove of the large no smoking area (which is where they said they'd put us). Service, by the way, was ultra-quick! The food is fairly typical pub chain: Starters £2.25-£5.99; Main Meals, Grills, Megameals, (and Extras £1-£2) £3.45-£10.99; All Day Roasts, Jacket Potatoes, Baps, Burgers etc; and puddings! There are numerous vegetarian options. If you're all in agreement I suggest we go with this and say 12 o'clock at The Parkway (which is just outside Parkway Station and easy to find). We have 10 definites with 4 possibles who are unable to confirm one way or the other until the last minute (which won't matter at all if we go here). Sue PS - Marion, good idea re the GC badge!! |

When I saved the GC logo I got nothing in the saved file, nor could I print it off. Have I had a senior moment or have the rest of you had a problem too? Sue |

Sue You can print off the page with the logo on by going to 'print screen'. Close the dialogue box that comes up, open a word doc. then press paste. You should then be able to print it off. Ann Glos |
