Naomi in SW | Report | 29 May 2005 12:37 |
Hello I'm Snuggles, a black lab and I'm staying with my Aunty Naomi and Uncle Simon for two weeks whilst my family are on their holidays. I love staying with them as they take me to the P-A-R-K (they think if they spell it I wont understand what they mean! Durr) Last year though they were naughty and I got hold of a packet of tablets that made me very poorly but I've forgiven them and still enjoy it here. My Mummy says I'm going to the health farm when I come here as I get more trips out and loads of kisses, cuddles and games. I think it's fun to wake them up at 6am for a trip into the garden and Uncle Simon doesn't like licking so I have to give him a sneaky side swipe when I get the chance! Aunty Naomi is going to have her own litter soon too. I can't wait as I love playing with my two human children at home so some more are always welcome. They also drop lots of food on the floor so I'm available to hoover up but skittles make my tummy go funny. I'm off for a lay down now as I've been bouncing about all morning and I want to go to the park later on. Snuggles xxxxx |

More talk about dogs. My dogs Chloe 13yrs yellow lab & Anna 10yrs tricolour Cav. thought you might like this: If you can start the day without caffeine or pep pills, If you can be cheerful ignoring aches and pains, If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles, If you can eat the same food everyday and be grateful for it, If you can understand when loved ones are too busy to give you time, If you can overlook when people take things out on you when through no fault of yours, something goes wrong If you can take criticism and blame without resentment, If you can face the world without lies and deceit If you can conquer tension without medical help, If you can relax without liquor, If you can sleep without the aid of drugs, THEN YOU ARE PROBABLY THE FAMILY DOG. Regards to all dog lovers, Judy |

Hi, my name is Monty, I am 12 yrs old but still fit and full of bounce, my Dad (I think) was a pointer and Mum was a lab, I look like Dad but take after Mum in size. Dad left Mum when she told him she was pregnant and a Rescue Centre found her with my six brothers and sisters living on the streets when we were four weeks old. My humans came to the Rescue Centre when I was 6 weeks old and they didn't have a chance. I have been naughty ever since and even now if I don't get my own way, I do something naughty to annoy them. As I can open doors even if they swing inwards I just hold down the handle and walk backwards and I am IN! I get shouted at if I chase the birds in the garden and those squirrels - well I have made a skid path from the top of the lawn to the bottom. I hate CATS - I check under all cars when I go for a walk - only pleasure there is in walking and with a bit of luck if my human is not thinking he can nearly fly through the air when I see a cat! Great fun though he does say a naughty word. I have had a good morning so far, my human mother was still asleep when the window cleaners arrived at 8.00 a.m. but not for long (I don't like them and tell them so very loudly until they leave). Then I was so happy I got my new squeaky toy which Father Christmas brought me and I squeaked that non-stop for about 10 minutes until my human yelled at me that she was going to shoot Father Christmas. I told my other human I fancied a walk this morning (have gone off walks lately - they are boring) but after 5 minutes I decided I was better off at home so we are back and I am going to snuggle up in my nice comfy bed for an hour or two - might play with my new toy when I wake up! Hello I'm Bramble and Mags is my Granny! I am very lucky to be here because some horrible people left me in a blackberry bush and ran away. I don't remember those nasty people any more but I do remember flirting with that nice policeman when he came to see me in the kennels and my cunnng plan worked! He took me home!!! I thought they were going to call me 'FOR GOODNESS SAKE DAWG!' at first because I was very naughty. They were very kind and I love their little two legged puppy like she was my own and guard her while she sleeps. When I was little I wouldn't go out for a walk unless their puppy came too! They had the nerve to forget me one day when they went to the park. I LOVE the park. I was sure it was a mistake and I could see them walking down the road from the bedroom upstairs. I didn't want them to feel embrarrassed about forgetting me so I thought I would catch them up! I can't understand why they were cross about me jumping from the bedroom window! I think Granny may be coming for a visit this afternoon so I had better go and tidy my basket! Bramble |

My two "Red Healers" or if you like, Australian Cattle dogs, Danny and Cloe would like to say G'day to all the other dogs out there. They are from the same litter, both aged 12 years now. Red Healers, as apart from "Blue Healers" get terrible Arthritis in the hind legs. ( common ). The name "Healer" comes from the dogs herding Sheep or Cattle, and nipping at the heals of cattle,to get them to move on. ( Hence Healer.) Tony.Oz |

Hi I am Vella the puppy. I live here with Dixie the dog. I don't quite know why I am called Vella the puppy as I am in fact older than Dixie the dog by 1 1/2 hours. She is much bigger than me though. We are both Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and live here with Janet and her two human puppies, Andy and Pete. There is also Auntie Punga - a cat - that lives here and we love trying to sniff her. We like living here but then again we have never lived anywhere else. We were born here. I've had a busy day today, Dixie and I had to take the human puppies on TWO walks today and I am very tired now. If I worry Janet enough, she will get my nite nite biscuits and I can go to bed - well arm chair actually, cos the humans don't sleep in with us so we don't have to stay on our beds. Don't tell them. Billy, must have resurrected the "doggy thread" because it was not me! My Feia is seven years old has a heart condition and is nearly blind and only has partial sight in her right eye. She has difficulty with her breathing and I cannot keep her out of the sun. I have been told that bulldogs do not have a long life span. We try to keep her weight down, she weighs 25 kilos. Loves having breakfast in bed with her Daddy, which is only allowed on weekends. I make an extra slice of toast and piece of bacon for her or toast and cheese. She flattens her ears and pushes her bottom teeth out in a huge grin and drools. It' the drooling I can't stand and beat a hasty retreat to the kitchen, leaving the two on them alone to enjoy their breakfast. Feia follows me around everywhere and I am forever tripping over her. I have permanet bruises on my shins from bumping into her. It is like walking into a brickwall. She is so ugly that she is beautiful and " Ugly" is her name. Lindy;-)) |

Hi, I`m Hoby (german shepherd) and this is my playmate Lily (greyhound). People think we are a strange combination, but we get on very well. My humans must love me very much, `cos they always forgive me when I eat things I`m not supposed to (sky remote controls, extension leads, video tapes, barbie dolls and mobile phones!). I have now promised not to do it anymore, and have learned how to open my toybox and get all the toys out to play with (and eat) instead. I have to go now, my dads home from work and he needs a cuddle and a wash! Lily will come and leave a message later, she is busy "making" the bed (it`s really an armchair but she won`t listen!). Bye for now, Hoby |

Feia, is lying on her blanket under the desk snoring away. Whenever, she wants her dinner (must have an alarm clock in her stomach) she nudges my leg, puts her head on my knee and shows me all her teeth. Who could resist such a beautiful smile. We love her so much. Lindy:-) |

Wendy I think a lot of dogs take an age to grow up.I had a beautiful border collie called Sally, she never grew up unfortunatly she got leukemia when she was 8 and I had to have her put to sleep.I did have her for about 6 months after finding out because the vet said we were so close she would tell me when she had , had enough and she did.I still miss her.Although I have another BC and as you know inherited the other three. But Sally was mine all mine I had her bought for me not a family pet and she was as good as gold. She used to talk to me.and did as she was told unlike the sarcastic one I have now.Our vet has border collies himself and he says they are the most sarcastic breed of dog unless of course you know different ......... Hellooooo Kate here. Life's a drag at times isn't it? Still wearing a bandage on my poorly paw. Went to the vets last Friday to have a new one put on and guess what - he put a blue one on because said he supports Man City!! Have you ever heard anything like it!! I'm a girl and I like pink. Anyway when they (the humans) were watching that jungle book programme I took it off but all human mummy did was laugh and put another one on and that was blue! So during the night I took it off again and am happy now because I have a white one on to match my black and white coat - it may be a horse bandage, but you can't have everything. I'm still on restricted exercise, but hopefully next weekend the bandage will come off for good and I will be able to run and run and run and run........ with sister Molly and mummy Kim. Hope all my doggy friends are well and happy - I wonder if I will get any Valentines cards - there is a rather handsome black border collie called Zak who comes to stay occassionally on his holidays.....I might send him one!! Love and licks Katexx |

QUESTION: How many dogs are needed to change a light bulb? Golden Retriever: The sun is shining, the day is young, we've got our whole lives ahead of us, and you're inside worrying about a stupid burned out bulb? Border Collie: Just one. And then I'll replace any wiring that's not up to code. Dachshund: You know I can't reach that damned stupid lamp! Rottweiler: Make me. Lab: Oh, me, me!!!! Pleeeeeeze let me change the light bulb! Can I? Can I? Huh? Huh? Huh? Can I? Jack Russell Terrier: I'll just pop it in while I'm bouncing off the walls and furniture. Poodle: I'll just blow in the Border Collie's ear and he'll do it. By the time he finishes rewiring the house, my nails will be dry. Cocker Spaniel: Why change it? I can still pee on the carpet in the dark. Doberman: While it's dark, I'm going to sleep on the couch. Boxer: Who cares? I can still play with my squeaky toys in the dark...... Mastiff: Mastiffs are NOT afraid of the dark. Chihuahua: Yo quiero Taco Bulb. Irish Wolfhound: Can somebody else do it? I've got this hangover..... Pointer: I see it, there it is, there it is, right there.... Greyhound: It isn't moving. Who cares? Australian Shepherd: First, I'll put all the light bulbs in a little circle... Old English Sheep Dog: Light bulb? I'm sorry, but I don't see a light bulb? German Shepherd: Alright, everyone stop where you are! Who busted the light? I SAID, "HALT VERE YOU ARE!!!" Hound Dog: ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz Bob |
