Hi Annie, Rossi , the Black lab here. Everyone here is so pleased for you and for your family that you don;t have anything really, really bad wrong with you. Hope you get some really good food, how about a nice juicy steak. They often have that, but never offer me any, and it sure smells great. Pan the cat is lucky. Whenever they downstairs have bacon, he smells it from wherever he is and he tears into the house and gets fed bits of it by his dad. That cat is spoiled rotten. No wonder he's such a snob and won't talk to me. Gotta go. It's snowing here, and grandma thinks it looks real pretty. I'm gonna go out and trample all over it and she'll say "Oh Rossi, do you have to spoil everything.?" When I was real little, only 3 months old, she planted what she called winter crops, cabbages and broccoli and stuff, and I chewed all the tops off. Boy, was she cross!! Yhey put up fences everywhere then to keep me out! Spoilsports!! Bye for now, all you canny canine pals. See ya, Rossi. |

Hi all you beautiful canines, Me and grandma were just browsing and we wondered how you all are, specially Annie. Hope you're feeling a lot better now Annie, and enjoying your food. We've just had a lot of snow here, and I really liked it, cos my dad took me down the school yard late at night, and let me run all over the place, and he made balls of snow and threw them at me. I like digging my nose in it and tossing it in the air. It's fun stuff, and I'm sad it's gone. Gotta go, holes to dig and bones to bury!! Woof, woof, Rossi. |

Meet Ben The Bassett Hound, resident of Calgary, Alberta! Have just returned from my evening sniff and stroll. Nice weather here today, I even managed to catch a few zzzzs while sitting on the front deck in the sun, this afternoon. The old hips are a bit arthritic, so I enjoy the warmth. On very cold days it's once round the block and a quick return to the fire. Don't have much time to stop and chat, I'm a busy dog with four humans, a budgie and two cats to care for. Then there's all that eating and sleeping to fit in somewhere. Happy New Year! |

Well! this afternoon, me and my sister Molly saw an opportunity to run and run and run round the field whilst human mummy was not looking and when she called us back did we getting a telling off! I did give her a licky promise to be good and not do it again .........until next time. I hope all my other doggy friends on here are well and good. love and licks from (naughty) Kate xx |

Hi Annie, Rossi here, and all of us in our house, that is, Pan, Kitty, Fuz and Iddles are so happy to hear that you're feeling better now, and hope that you won't have any more troubles. Also we all wanted to thank Auntie Jude, (is that alright, can we say that) for rescueing that poor lost dog, cos we animals can't look after ourselves, and so it's so important that our humans look after us and look out for other ones of us who're lost or not being treated kindly. We are lucky aren't we Annie, and all the other dogs and cats on this GB, cos we have people that love us. Love and happiness to all, Rossi.xx |

Yes, We brought our Boxer, Kim, with us from England back in 1961. She was a red and white with 4 white socks. We had a baby a few months later and she was great with the baby. Was sat on, rolled on, pulled, grabbed and took it all with not a single snarl. She was very intelligent, a tad wilful, and very loving. Loved walks of course, and drives in the car. In fact she just fitted perfectly in the family and we were all heartbroken when at age 12 she became ill and we had to have her put down. She did tend to drool, but only when we were eating something she fancied, which was mostly anything!! And when young, she hated to be left alone and would set about demolishing the house to teach us a lesson. A really great dog, but then aren't they all!!!? |

Hi Wendy, One of our neighbours has a boxer, a beautiful tan colour, short ears and small face. I have know her since she was a puppy and make a point of giving her attention when I am there as she is very jealous and on two seperate occassions has given me a nip. Not hard enough to draw blood but hard enough to hurt. She will attack a stranger. On the other hand my neighbour's daughter also has a boxer the breed with the long floppy ears and droopy eyes. He would not hurt a fly. It could be that Boris is so gentle because he has been brought up with little children. Where as Lady is jealous as she lives alone with the old couple. We have a brindle british bulldog, a surprise birthday present for my husband. I came very close to changing my mind as I too had heard conflicting stories. I thank God that I did not as you could not wish for a more loving animal. That was seven years ago. good luck Lindy :-) |

QUESTION: How many dogs are needed to change a light bulb? Golden Retriever: The sun is shining, the day is young, we've got our whole lives ahead of us, and you're inside worrying about a stupid burned out bulb? Border Collie: Just one. And then I'll replace any wiring that's not up to code. Dachshund: You know I can't reach that damned stupid lamp! Rottweiler: Make me. Lab: Oh, me, me!!!! Pleeeeeeze let me change the light bulb! Can I? Can I? Huh? Huh? Huh? Can I? Jack Russell Terrier: I'll just pop it in while I'm bouncing off the walls and furniture. Poodle: I'll just blow in the Border Collie's ear and he'll do it. By the time he finishes rewiring the house, my nails will be dry. Cocker Spaniel: Why change it? I can still pee on the carpet in the dark. Doberman: While it's dark, I'm going to sleep on the couch. Boxer: Who cares? I can still play with my squeaky toys in the dark...... Mastiff: Mastiffs are NOT afraid of the dark. Chihuahua: Yo quiero Taco Bulb. Irish Wolfhound: Can somebody else do it? I've got this hangover..... Pointer: I see it, there it is, there it is, right there.... Greyhound: It isn't moving. Who cares? Australian Shepherd: First, I'll put all the light bulbs in a little circle... Old English Sheep Dog: Light bulb? I'm sorry, but I don't see a light bulb? German Shepherd: Alright, everyone stop where you are! Who busted the light? I SAID, "HALT VERE YOU ARE!!!" Hound Dog: ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz Bob |

Hellooooo Kate here. Life's a drag at times isn't it? Still wearing a bandage on my poorly paw. Went to the vets last Friday to have a new one put on and guess what - he put a blue one on because said he supports Man City!! Have you ever heard anything like it!! I'm a girl and I like pink. Anyway when they (the humans) were watching that jungle book programme I took it off but all human mummy did was laugh and put another one on and that was blue! So during the night I took it off again and am happy now because I have a white one on to match my black and white coat - it may be a horse bandage, but you can't have everything. I'm still on restricted exercise, but hopefully next weekend the bandage will come off for good and I will be able to run and run and run and run........ with sister Molly and mummy Kim. Hope all my doggy friends are well and happy - I wonder if I will get any Valentines cards - there is a rather handsome black border collie called Zak who comes to stay occassionally on his holidays.....I might send him one!! Love and licks Katexx |

Wendy I think a lot of dogs take an age to grow up.I had a beautiful border collie called Sally, she never grew up unfortunatly she got leukemia when she was 8 and I had to have her put to sleep.I did have her for about 6 months after finding out because the vet said we were so close she would tell me when she had , had enough and she did.I still miss her.Although I have another BC and as you know inherited the other three. But Sally was mine all mine I had her bought for me not a family pet and she was as good as gold. She used to talk to me.and did as she was told unlike the sarcastic one I have now.Our vet has border collies himself and he says they are the most sarcastic breed of dog unless of course you know different ......... Feia, is lying on her blanket under the desk snoring away. Whenever, she wants her dinner (must have an alarm clock in her stomach) she nudges my leg, puts her head on my knee and shows me all her teeth. Who could resist such a beautiful smile. We love her so much. Lindy:-) |

Hi, I`m Hoby (german shepherd) and this is my playmate Lily (greyhound). People think we are a strange combination, but we get on very well. My humans must love me very much, `cos they always forgive me when I eat things I`m not supposed to (sky remote controls, extension leads, video tapes, barbie dolls and mobile phones!). I have now promised not to do it anymore, and have learned how to open my toybox and get all the toys out to play with (and eat) instead. I have to go now, my dads home from work and he needs a cuddle and a wash! Lily will come and leave a message later, she is busy "making" the bed (it`s really an armchair but she won`t listen!). Bye for now, Hoby |

Billy, must have resurrected the "doggy thread" because it was not me! My Feia is seven years old has a heart condition and is nearly blind and only has partial sight in her right eye. She has difficulty with her breathing and I cannot keep her out of the sun. I have been told that bulldogs do not have a long life span. We try to keep her weight down, she weighs 25 kilos. Loves having breakfast in bed with her Daddy, which is only allowed on weekends. I make an extra slice of toast and piece of bacon for her or toast and cheese. She flattens her ears and pushes her bottom teeth out in a huge grin and drools. It' the drooling I can't stand and beat a hasty retreat to the kitchen, leaving the two on them alone to enjoy their breakfast. Feia follows me around everywhere and I am forever tripping over her. I have permanet bruises on my shins from bumping into her. It is like walking into a brickwall. She is so ugly that she is beautiful and " Ugly" is her name. Lindy;-)) |

Hi I am Vella the puppy. I live here with Dixie the dog. I don't quite know why I am called Vella the puppy as I am in fact older than Dixie the dog by 1 1/2 hours. She is much bigger than me though. We are both Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and live here with Janet and her two human puppies, Andy and Pete. There is also Auntie Punga - a cat - that lives here and we love trying to sniff her. We like living here but then again we have never lived anywhere else. We were born here. I've had a busy day today, Dixie and I had to take the human puppies on TWO walks today and I am very tired now. If I worry Janet enough, she will get my nite nite biscuits and I can go to bed - well arm chair actually, cos the humans don't sleep in with us so we don't have to stay on our beds. Don't tell them.
