You may remember my post about my husband being ill. Unfortunately, he died this morning. Very peaceful, and he went about 15 minutes after I had left. I seemed that he was waiting for me to leave, as he knew I didn`t want to be there at the end. We had discussed it at length when he was well. Please understand if I dont get back for a while. |

Carol, so very sorry to hear your sad news. It is especially hard to loose a loved one at this time of year when all around are being so happy. Please take comfort in the knowledge that so many people are thinking of and praying for you and your family at this time. Daphne xx Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the softly falling snow. I am the gentle showers of rain, I am the fields of ripening grain. I am in the morning hush I am in the graceful rush Of beautiful birds in circling flight, I am in the star shine of the night. I am in the flowers that bloom, I am in a quiet room. I am in the birds that sing, I am in every lovely thing. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I do not die. Mary E Frye 1932 |

Carole Believe me I know exactly what you are going through. Your circumstance are precisely the same as mine when my wife died. I don't know whether she wanted me there or not because she was comatose for 5 days beforehand. I know I wanted to be with her but it was not to be. Lots of cyberlove and hugs Ian G. |

Carol, our friend's father passed away last month. The hospice workers told her he would probably pass away when they weren't with him. They knew the end was near, so stayed with him constantly. Ellen, her husband and two children had looked away for a moment (I think at someone coming into the room) and when they looked back he had passed on. Apparently our loved ones pass on quite frequently when we are not watching them. My father-in-law passed away several years ago in December. It is a very hard time of year for the family (when everyone else is so happy). We are all blessed that there are so many caring people on GC. Like all of the other messages before me, my thoughts are with you and your family. |
