WILLIAM SON OF WILLIAM & ELIZABETH RINGROSE Signed J.D.ROSS. Curate. . . St. Mary Magdalene. St. Mary Magdalene Church was the main Church for the Parish of Knighton. Greeting’s Louise in Livingston. . . . . The Search for Joseph Clamp. Born Osbaston. c.1822 ? Father of Joseph born in Ibstock. I’ve found a Clamp Family living 1.7 miles due south from Osbaston. On the 1841.Census In an area called “ Bull in the Oak” which is on the A447 from Coalville to Hinckley. The Family is as follows :- John Clamp. Head. 45. Farmer. Sarah. Wife. 45. Elizabeth. Dau. 10. William. Son. 5. Jane. Dau. 3. George. Son. 6 mths. In the entry above the last one there is a Mary Baysby.45. Farmer. Interestingly there is an Ann Clamp 14. Female Servant. With her. But no sign of Joseph who would be aged 19. Maybe he’s in an other part of the County. As I see he married Catherine from Sileby. Anyway you now have some more Clamps to add to your list. MIKE.

Hello Mike Me old duck You have been so busy looking up for me I don't know how I can thank you.The William that you have just got the details for can not be the William in Countesthorpe cemetary that you so very kindly took a photo of the head stone, because the one in Countesthorpe died aged 40 and it said on the headstone he died the year 1810. But the one you took a photo of is mine I just needed to verify his parent's and you have done that for me, I don't think a headstone would give the wrong year at least not ten years out. So Mike you have solved my problem. I think the parents for my William were from Cold Ashby that had been passed down from generations but I had been given information that Williams parent's were William and Elizabeth from Knighton, but that does not fit. I have had a look on family search and there is one from Naseby and that could be the one I want so it is Northants I have to go now, the year is 1770 for his birth, but Mike how do I prove that is his parent's. What other information do I need to be able to prove it?? Thanks a million for all your time

Mike have copied all that information now. Thank you so much for your help, you're a wee gem laddie. That's another generation back by the looks of it. At least now I have something to work with as I'd come to a bit of a dead stop!! Appreciate your time.:):):) Jan, thanks for the info on the cemetery. I don't know those particular names but chances are they fit in somewhere lol. Mum did say she thought the place had gone to wrack and ruin. Thanks for looking.:) What a helpful bunch you are ;) Lou

Mike, just thought I'd add.... the family on the 1861 pretty much has to be Joseph's as I just noticed his brothers name of Reuben. Been wondering where he got that name from for my Grt Grandfather... makes sense now if it was his brothers name. Its not exactly a common combination. And the other thing was, no I didn't know about Daniel Taylor being in the household. The info I got on the 1891 wasn't quite as clear as yours is so that's a little extra info too thanks!! Lou

Thanks again for that information Mike. I think the William that you gave me bn 1880 Knighton is the one who married Elizabeth alive on the 1841.As my William had died by then 1810, so that answers that for me. I still think that the information that I have that William was born in Naseby is right, as there is one there bn 1770 but Mike how do I prove that the couple in Naseby that gave birth to a William is mine?this info about him born in Naseby has been passed down from generation to generation. Sue.........

Greeting’s Sue. . . . The only William Ringrose matching anywhere near Your details on my disks it came up with. . . RINGROSE, William Christening Gender: Male Christening Date: 15 Dec 1771 Recorded in: Great Gidding, Huntingdonshire, England Father: Thomas RINGROSE Mother: Hannah Source: FHL Film 1040989 Dates: 1722 – 1877 Which is only 27 Miles from Naseby. To the left of Sawtry Junction 15 A1 (M) Near to Thrapston Huntingdonshire. But I think he married a Fanny See earlier posting back. Also if I try a look up at the Records Office at Wigston. It will only tell me yes he was buried at St. Andrews Church Countesthorpe. It might not give a age. Although we know it should be 30 if that is right on his headstone. MIKE.

Morning Mike, You will be seeing these Ringrose's in your sleep. I have been on the IGI noticed that there was a William Ringrose bn 1770 in Naseby Northamptonshire, that would fit the one, William died aged 40 in 1810 that would fit,but what do I need to get to prove it is my William?
