Being a Yorkshireman, I wondered when I started looking backwards, where my family originated from. I have found ancestors from Yorkshire, Durham, Derbyshire, Ireland, Middlesex (possibly from Germany), a bit of Cornwall and Devon. Thankfully no Lancastrians! (lol). Where are yours from? |

Essex (hopefully), Surrey (briefly) and Sussex, Lancashire, Cheshire, Yorkshire; Counties: Clare, Monaghan, Donegal or Fermanagh, Galway, Wicklow, Antrim and "yet to be discovered"; and Ontario, Canada. Bob: Must be difficult trying to keep your counties straight. :~) |

On my Grandfather's side, every single person, so far, from Norfolk - and, in fact within about a 20 mile radius of each other (obviously not big travellers !). On my Grandmother's side, all from Lincolnshire all the way back to the 1600s right up until 1915 when my Grandmother's parents decided to move to Norfolk - co-incidentally to within the same 20 mile radius mentioned above - quite convenient really, otherwise my Grandparents would never have met otherwise ! |
