I wonder what things annoy us. My major one is cyclists. On my route to work they've put a cycle lane in the road so made it narrower, never seen one cyclist in the bloody thing anyway. They don't stop at traffic lights even though many councils have put little cycle bits at the front. They slow down traffic when you're stuck behind one and traffic is building up behind you and they complain when you're too close to the curb and they can't get past. I'd rather be closer to the curb to let a motorbike go past me as at least the motorbike can zoom off and be out of the way. I wouldn't mind them being on the road and having special cycle lanes so much if they actually paid anything towards them. Naomi |

Hi Naomi. my pet hate is grown men (not players) wearing football shirts! I can understand them wearing them to go to a match to support their teams, but for casual wear Nooooo! My point is, that football shirts are the work clothes of football players. I could never imagine football players wanting to wear my husband's work overalls as their casual clothes I'm sure the guys will disagree with me on this one! bye Christine |

1 Dog poo where my kids are walking/playing makes smoke come out of my ears - if I caught the dog owners I would put their faces in it ... 2 People who do not strap children in when driving - what planet are they on ... 3 Bad or no manners - please/thanks don't cost anything and will get you what you want much more quickly ... and STOP PUSHING!!!! 4 Drivers who think I have a crystal ball in my car and know when they are going to pull out/change lanes/turn even though they seem to have lost their indicator ... Well, now you all think I'm Mrs Angry but I feel a lot better for getting that off my chest!! Maz. XX |

Very true Linda, I do agree that there are many bad drivers out there too. My husband rides a motorbike and I will say it has made me far more aware of what's going on around me and checking my blind spot etc when manouvering. He was knocked off his bike last September by a mad driver on the A3 which has 3 lanes of fast traffic. He was lucky not to be majorly hurt but the worst thing was I was stuck in the traffic his accident has caused and upon reaching the scene I looked (as we ALL do) and saw my husband's bike a crumpled mess on the side of the road, police and ambulance. Was the worst feeling I have ever had. The nutty driver is being prosecuted and is in court at the end of May so fingers crossed he will be found guilty. Naomi |

Sorry Christine, but I always buy a Spurs shirt each season and wear it on holiday, to the gym, to the supermarket etc etc. They have just bought a ladies shirt out which is actually tailored, so I won't have to buy a 'youth' size any more!! Oh and if I go to matches I wear it then too!! Maz. XX |

Tourists - They just wander around looking in a completely different direction to what they are walking. My life would be a damn site easier if it weren't for them but then i probably wouldn't have a job (I work in a 4* hotel). |

Well done Maz! I also get annoyed by: bad manners people not holding doors open even though they can see you coming teenagers on the tills at Sainsburys trying to pack as much into a carrier bag full of 8 pints of milk (how strong do they think the bag and I am?) Emails that get forwarded to lots of people but no-one taking all the forwarded bits out so you have to scroll for a mile to read the content Pedestrians who decide the best place to stop is right outside the door of a shop usually as you're behind them. I'm sure there's more and will add them as I think of them! Naomi |

Naomi They are the same peeves as mine, apart from the door one. I am the sort of person that will open a door and if I see someone coming will stand there for ages opening it for them and they dont even say thankyou. Debbie |

Oh yeah, sorry Linda but I also wear my Chelsea shirt too. Strangley enough hubby only wears his to play football and doesn't even wear it to the matches. Although most of his tops have a CFC somewhere and he has a CFC tattoo. Naomi |

Maz, gotta agree about the dog poo - it drives me absolutely crazy. Can you tell me why people have dogs and then let them roam around doing whatever?? i'm sure these dog owners would be offended if i took my kids over every morning to do their daily scoobies!!! |

Naomi, The only thing worse than cyclists is the combination of buses and cyclists ! How is a poor car driver supposed to get to work ? Rick :-) |

Ooh Rick don't get me started on buses! The back end of my car was wiped out by one 2 weeks ago when he thought I'd pulled over to let him past. I hadn't I was waiting to turn right but a car was coming out of the turning so I couldn't turn in. The bus thought he could fit through. Turns out he couldn't! |

Can't say I've ever faced that problem Janet but learner drivers in rush hour is one too. I know they have to learn but I did all mine in my lunch hours. Naomi |

Yes, me too Naomi - either during my lunch hour or after work in the dark - but that was in 1963! |

Ooh just thought of another. Is driving one again... maybe I'm too aggressive to be on the road?! lol When I'm trying to get onto the A3 or any busy/fast road and I'm on the slip road, people pootling along the inside lane and not moving over to the middle so you can get on. Naomi |

Janet | Report | 31 Mar 2004 23:53 |
Yes - and people who sit in the middle lane on motorways when the inside lane is clear! |
