I suspect that the " Guardians of Moral Outrage " ( the Patricia/Gerald haters ) might all be Arsenal supporters. That would explain a lot. John in Aus |

Patricia - every now and then these arguements flare up and then settle down again. Basically GC changed the name so that we could all chat about what we want. As you can see this board means so very much to so many people. Hope you understand what you have started and why you have had so much reaction. Jude |

I love the general topics board, its great for genealogy and guess what??? GENERAL TOPICS, i think Patricia needs to relax a little, genealogy/family history can be stressfull but its supposed to be fun to!!! And as for footie, my husband likes going to the matches! i prefer watching it on tv and as he's a Villa fan and I support Birmingham then YES he's mad!!! haha |

I've just read this thread about men and boys watching /playing football and wanted to add my bit. When I was younger I used to go watch Arsenal play with the girls from work we used to finish work at 1pm on a Saturday get a bus to Luton, train to St Pancras then a tube to Finsbury Park then walk to the ground and we always managed to get there for 3pm kick-off. As somebody said when you walk in and see that pitch at Highbury you get shivers down your spine. The atmosphere - the history it's all there after all Arsenal are the only team NEVER to have been relegated to a lower division! I would like to wish the boys all the best tonight in their Champions League match against Chelsea |

Christine, I think you're being a little unfair on Gerald who actually did come back on a new thread and apologise profusely for his offensive comments. Perhaps you missed it. Hope I haven't offended anyone now? Pam :-)) |

perhaps patricia should get in touch with the rather nasty Gerald!!!! he too is a rude person with no care for others feelings......at least he had the common decency to delete the message he wrote that caused such an outrage!!! i suggest you do the same patricia!!!!! and going back to the question in hand......as a mother of two boys and a wife of one......all footie mad.....i agree.....maddness to go and watch when its on the box!!! most weekends are taken up with one son heading for portman road, another for old trafford and hubby on the train to st james....costs a fortune and surly they see more on the telly? Andy....nice bum hun...lol |
