Anybody remember the Enfield Poltergeist? It was publicised in the major press pictures and all, and lasted longer than any other poltergeist activity recorded.

Ok Andrew, That put the wind up me! I was living on council estate in Enfield and I was about the same age as that young girl. I don't actually remember anything on our estate, it was a large estate with a lot of kids but word went round fast if anything happened. I will ask mum later, this has got me curious now. Sue

Sue, the real name of the family was kept a closely guarded secret from the public but hey, Enfield isnt that big a place.

Andrew, Some photo's on this site. They said her names was Janet Harper. http://www.pixeldeviant(.)com/experiment_enfield.shtml Remove brackets Sue

sue, I believe that Harper was the ficticious name invented for the book 'This House is Haunted', which is the book i'm struggling to find. Andy

That would be Green Street, Enfield

Andy(GC)

Andy(GC) Report 11 Apr 2004 16:42

Green St? Is that the location involved?

Susanne

Susanne Report 11 Apr 2004 16:42

Green Street was just down the road from me. I lived just off of Caterhatch Lane. See what you mean about the price difference.

Linda

Linda Report 11 Apr 2004 16:46

Yes, it was definitely Green Street, which is off the Hertford Road and runs parallel with Carterhatch.

Andy(GC)

Andy(GC) Report 11 Apr 2004 16:49

were you also in the area at the time or know somebody that was?

Susanne

Susanne Report 11 Apr 2004 16:51

Green Street rings a bell and I dont know why. I knew it was near us but I cant remember why it means something else as well, if that makes sense! Going to have to get hold of mum.

Sorry, but I only went to live in Enfield eight years ago and have since moved. But was told about it.
