It seems so many woman in the 1800s had children late, I know some started and didnt stop lol but for some the first came along at 40 plus.I thought this was a modern thing or have I got it all wrong lol. Not really qualified to comment on this thread as I'm a bloke if you hadn't already picked up on that but my father, grandfather, gt-grandfather and gt-gt-grandfather were all in their 40s when their respective sons were born, e.g my dad was 47 when I was born, my grandfather was 42 when my dad was born, and so on. |

This is not really a man thing ; but my own daughter presented me with a lovely grandson at the age of 44. It is all going very well but he is now three and his brothers are 19 & 20 and beleive it or not he guards them both very jealously. |

My Mum was 44 years old when I was born, she had three other girls. I had six boys by the age of 38. Then at 43 I had a little girl eventually. Would not swap them for the world. Happy Lynne from Epsom |

Debbi & Lynne, My Dad was 50 too when I was born. My Mum was 41. They'd been married for 19 years before my elder brother (by 2.5 years) was born. Unfortunately having elder parents is not always a good thing as although I feel I had a wonderful childhood they both died when I was 18 and my brother and I had to do a lot of growing up fast. I have a brother who's five years younger than me, so my dad would have been 52 when he was born. Randy old devil! |
