She I reckon you're right about it being a Yorkshire thing. I used to work at our local mental hospital and in various homes and the favourite colour for men and women was blue. Even my Grandads got a pair of those zip up the front blue jobbies. Even though Grandad is losing his marbles a bit these days, it was my Mum that bought them. Hope it doesn't run in the family! lol Jeanette |

Hi She Does that mean that if we are given blue slippers as a gift, we now know what those people think of our mental ability? |

Well Karen - you have hit the nail on the head! Look at residents in psych wards and nursing homes - they ALL wear blue slippers! I had heard of this theory and put it to the test - when m i l was in hosp I looked around the ward - the slightly loopy people all had blue slippers. she is in a nursing home and out of the 16 people I saw in the lounge 15 of them had BLUE slippers!!!!!! One old dear was at the front door - waiting to go out with husband and I - claimed her daughter had brought her to visit a friend - I looked down - and guess what SHE WAS WEARING BLUE SLIPPERS! |

Navy blue mules with a soggy sole at the moment where I was clearing up after young grandson flooded the floor. Have a pair of dusky pink mocassins too. What does this all mean?? |
