Alaina and Sally, I remembered your parents in the Cathedral on Saturday and lit candles for them, and all of us that have lost a loved one. Linda x

Will be thinking of you Alaina. You have the right idea, remember the good times as I am sure your Dad would have wanted you to. It is very sad that he died so young, but then he will always be young to you now. The wine to drink a toast seems a good idea. My Dad died on Christmas day (he was 93 so had a good life). Every Christmas at 5.30pm the time that he died we drink a toast to him. Ann Glos

Wow, I'm overwhelmed, thank you so much everybody, I don't even think I've spoken to some of you before but that is what I love about this site your strangers but good friends aswell and that means a lot. It ended up just me and my brother, my sister went on her own with Lucy but she rang me and Shaun afterwards. My nan and auntie's had already been and left some flowers and a card. Me and Shaun just sat in the car afterwards in our own little worlds with our memories then we drove back to Yeadon and decided to go have a birthday drink for dad. thanks again all of you, its people like you that make GR special. Love Alaina xxxx

Will be thinking of you tomorrow. Youwill be able to tell your neice all about her grandad while she is growing up and keep his memory very much alive. Even though she won't have known him personally she will be able to know him through you and your brother and sister and that is so special. Joanne

Alaina, my Mam would have been 76 tomorrow. It does get easier as time moves on, but some days it hurts just as bad as it did when we lost her. I'm sure your Dad would be proud of you. Thinking of you and sending love, Sal.x

I understand how hard these milestones are...I have lost both my mum and dad now - dad 25 years ago when I was 12, and mum just over 3 years ago - and I think about them every day. My mum would've been 65 in June and all I could think about was the lovely time we had celebrating her 60th. Will be thinking of you - and don't worry if you have some tears - I think it's more worrying if you don't!! Lots of hugs Kim xx

Thank you so much everybody for your support, it brought a tear to my eye. Mags I don't think that is a bad idea actually!!, When we went last year My sister was very heavily pregnant with my niece and she was born on the 8th, this year she'll be able to come with us so instead of the three of us it will be 4, my dad would of loved his grandaughter she's very mischievous like him!! I try to be strong for Michelle and Shaun when the aniversaries come round but in the end we all start crying when we're leaving the crem and it's usually Shaun that start's us off! and then we laugh and remember the good times we used to have with dad. I'll let you know how I got on, on Monday Alaina xxx
