Read this on the site about the Man from Uncle 'that the show had an actual connection to Bond. Ian Fleming who wrote the Bond films had a character named Napolean Solo in "Goldfinger." Although a bad guy in the original book, Fleming gave producer Norman Felton permission to use the name. The U.N.C.L.E. spies had very different personalities. Solo was outgoing and sophisticated. Kuryakin was thoughtful and quiet. The head of the U.N.C.L.E. secret New York office was Mr. Waverly (Leo G. Carroll). His assignments most often involved fighting the evil organization, THRUSH.' A Scot playing a Russian may sound funny, but that's nothing the George Clooney film "Three Kings" or something like that a NZ actor, Cliff Curtis who is a Maori played an Iraqi! |

Remember Khartoum with Charlton Heston as Gordon (he wasn't Amercian) and Laurence Ollivier as the Mahi (he was no English man) |

Have you noticed that where a lot of actors change their accents to adapt to a particular film, Sean Connery never changes his accent no matter what role he plays. Think it would be quite strange if he did. |

Yeah old Tam sticks to the same accent all the time! |
