At the last Bristol meet Debbi from Devon had her children there, two about 11/12 and little Shea who was about 17 months. It can be very boring for them though. I would say that @ Bristol is suitable for 5 years and up, there is a lot in that area for older children and teenagers, @ Bristol, another museum (Industrial I think) on the other side of the quay, SS Gt Britain. What about Bristol Zoo is that still open. Ann Glos

Hi Louise Sorry I have only just checked back to see how this is going. If we were in a separate room perhaps it may have been ok but since we will be in the public bar I'm not sure that it would be suitable for children. I could ring them if you wanted me to. How old are they? Perhaps your husband could drop you off and take them to the zoo or something? There's always 'At Bristol' in the centre at the Watershed too - well worth a visit but probably not for tots. If it's a nice day and he doesn't mind a bit more driving the Avon Valley Country Park off the A4 near Bath is excellent and you'd probably have to ring them to get them to come back!! Magsxx

Hi Jane !! Well I certainly don't remember talking about family history much at the meets I've been to lol. It would be good to meet you - hope you can make it. Rick. ~~~~~~~~~waves to better half~~~~~~~~~

Hello, This is all new to me! I have only very recently got into researching my family history in any depth. However, I have already found out that I am related to Rick [Marshall] and he emailed me about this meeting. What happens? Is it purely social or what? - complete novice here :-) Could you put me down as a possible. Like someone else who posted in this thread, I'm a bit shy and feel rather daunted at meeting a load of new people!

For those not intent on clubbing in the city centre - the nearest hotel to The Parkway Tavern is the Bristol North 'Express by Holiday Inn' - that's in the Bristol Parkway Business Park so for those of you without 4" heels - walking distance. Rooms for 2 = £39.00 according to the internet May be booked on line at www(.)hiexpress(.)co(.)uk - remove brackets. Tel: 44-870-4430036 I have maps now for Parkway + hotels (3) in immediate area and for Bristol City centre for those who want to go further afield for the evening. Please mail me for those with your email addresses and I will send them. Menus also scanned if anyone wants one of those as well. Does anyone want city centre hotels? - details not yet typed and I shan't bother if no-one wants them! Any other information required - mail me for that too Thanks Magsxx

Bev, Tony only takes a superficial interest in FH but has found the three meetings he has been to interesting. Mind you his staying power is only about 2.5 hours so we don't usually stay as long as some. the main thing is he gets me there. Ann Glos
