JIMMY SHAND, at the drill hall in Arbroath where my dad was stationed in 1951. He was a regular soldier (CSM) and was training the TA. The first person to say" WHOS JIMMY SHAND?" pays a fine to Daisy on Saturday!!! Deanna :-)) |

Oh, it was Space (they were big for a time during Britpop) at Middlesbrough Town Hall, 1998. You'll probably remember them more for their hits than the band themselves - The Ballad of Tom Jones, Female Of The Species, Me & You Against the World, etc. Have seen Radiohead, REM, Manic Street Preachers, Travis, Queens of the Stone Age, Kid Rock, The Divine Comedy, JJ72, Goldfrapp, AC/DC since then. |

Margaret Spark - was the other Middlesbrough club you mentioned the Scene? If you went to Outlook a lot, I wouldn't be surprised if you knew a friend of mine Nigel Lofthouse he just about lived there. In Bill Wyman's book "Rolling With The Stones", he says that the night they played on the same bill as the Hollies in Middlesbrough in 1963 was at the Alcove club. I'm afraid he's wrong!! |

My mum took me to see Gilbert O'Sullivan at the Palladium for my 13th birthday, 1973. thats a blast from the past. Also saw, The Osmonds, David Essex, Barry Manilow, George Benson, Supertramp(boyfriend at the time cousin was the manager) Simply Red, took husband to see the Shadows at the the Hammersmith Apollo last year, also went to see Merrill Osmond last year.
