What are they attached to? So why would the basketball player kill himself and what did the police notice about the mailbox? Aileen

Yes Arthur you're on the right track. So if someone was jealous of him, bearing in mind he is tall.... what would they do to the mailbox which would make the basket ball player resort to killing himself. Shrink and stretch maybe? Aileen

You've almost got it Arthur. So he's a basketball player who is tall and if he begins to notice that the mailbox is out of his reach, what does he begin to think is happening to him and what are the consequences? Aileen

Knew you'd get there eventually Arthur. What happened was that every night a rival basketball player added half an inch to the post of the mailbox. After a week the player became convinced that he was shrinking. Thinking he might lose his livelihood he committed suicide. The police suspected murder because someone had driven him to it intentionally. That was a bit of a tricky one. Took me about 2 hrs to get that one. Aileen
