How about a catergory section - catergories with approx 5 book titles in each .Then we can choose a catergory and a book!! Perhaps 3 catergories or it will get complicated. what do you all think?? jude sarf wales :o))) |

Sounds good to me Jude Just to clarify though if you have bought or ordered a book we'll include it -- its teething problems! lol I want to be a complete coward now and say I was hoping the club would 'kick off' and we could read and review and then I wouldn't be involved anymore apart from reading! I'm sorry to those who are offended by the choice of 'A child Called It' but we cannot always turn a blind eye, sometimes whats unpleasant needs to be read? This is a Book Club you do not have to read if the book of the month offends you and I would rather you didn't take it personally? ok |

Sorry l was eating my dinns:o(( To try and clarify my suggestion abit more. 3 catergories/subject Science Fiction - Classics - Mystery Murder,(or what ever) each cat/sub has 5 or ? book titles. We must all vote on all cat/sub, after voting we should have 3 books. We choose one. Each month the cat/subs can be changed - is that sounding more complicated??? lol Must say l won't actually go out and buy the chosen book, unless it is a £1 or 2 in charity:o))) l'll be back later, hubby hurt his back and is laying on the floor,he might be gasping for a cuppa!!!!!! lol jude sarf wales :o)) |

judes idea is quite good, as long as I don't have to read science Fiction (well, I might read some but not really my scene) But it is a good idea to widen the scope. As we want to get off the ground I suggest that we read the Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence or Sower and the Seed, whatever it is called, and then the first of the second books is A Child called It, plus whichever one we vote for from this last list of yours Mike. My vote is Snow falling on Cedars (mainly because I have it and want to read it). Ann glos |

Going to the library tomorrow, will have to find out if my card is still valid, not used it for years. Will probably buy Dave Pelzer's book. His brother also wrote a book about life after David left. Jude, was it a tun dish and hose pipe to get the cuppa down Vic? Ros. Ann, you're not the only one who is not into Science fiction. But ilike the challenge of reading books I wouldn't normally go for. |

As I said before fellow readers - I haven't got a clue what I'm doing so all suggestions are very welcome - I just wanted a book we could all read and then discuss - and if I'm truthful I don't have to do anything else once it gets rolling LOL.. If the book is not to your taste, as some aren't mine, then something else from the list? Perhaps I'll phone Richard and Judy for Tips! LOL |

Ignore last reply lol ... getting contacts - will update soon. Feel free to let me know how you think alternative book should be decided? Just to confirm the book for May is 'Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence' to be reviewed approx 23rd May. The ACTUAL choice for June book is STILL 'A Child Called It' by Dave Pelzer nothing will change that as it was voted for - to be reviewed approx 23rd June. Some people have contacted me that they don't wish to read this choice and that is understandable so we must have an alternative and then review both books. Its the alternative we need? I just chose the one with the LEAST votes last time , to be fair, but others disagree - please vote now LOL |
