When my daughter was 6, we slept outside Clarence house on the eve of Charlie and Di's wedding, so my daughter had a good view of the wedding the next day, we loved it. |

1973 travelled to New Zealand by ship through the Panama Canal. Whilst on board celebrated the marriage of Princess Anne to Mark Phillips. Stood for 6hrs in a queue to see Charles & Diana's wedding gifts. Must have been mad!! No regrets about queueing for hours to pay my respects to the late Queen Mother. |

The most amazing thing to me, was having two babies. I've also got a masters' degree, been interviewed on the radio when I was 10 outside Buckingham Palace, stood on the pitch at Twickenham, given a witness statement after seeing an assault, won a Parents Quiz, won a bottle of champagne after a competition in The Independent on Sunday and won a years' supply of Virago books. I was also in Brixton on the night of the riot in 1980whatsit. nell |

I've been thinking long and hard about this! Been round portions of Pompeii that are closed to the public Helped excavate a roman bath house Stayed on the beautiful island of Lismore for a month Eaten at the British School in Rome First person in my entire family to ever get a place at Cambridge (It had never crossed my mind to apply until a teacher suggested it a few months before the forms were due in!) Been to the top of Mount Vesuvius Was the first person at school to win the top Classics prize who wasn't taking Latin or Ancient Greek but Classical Civilisations :) A few disgruntled people that year! Work on a survey project in Italy for 2 weeks staying in the holiday villa of the local aristocrat. Even got invited for drinks at his very nice house up in the town with lots of very snooty ex-pats who thought I was the hired help! In truth I have not lived long enough to do anything of much interest. |

Have been to Niagra Falls six times, everytime a relative from UK comes to visit off we go down to Niagra. Have seen the falls when it's snowing and they are frozen. Beautiful. Goat Island is the Park that is just over the boarder into the states, behind American and Candian falls, at Niagra. The day we went, there was a van load of convicts having a day out!!!. They were all dressed in their orange overalls, some had chains on feet. if they had tried to escape they would not have got very far, except over the falls. Have walked on glass. floor of CN tower Got married in Sri-Lanka May 98, had going away elephant ride round the hotel gardens. In November 98, emigrated to Ontario, Canada. Fed baby orphaned elephants huge bottles of milk in Sri-Lanka, and held albino turtles that could not survive in the sea. Watched turtles lay their eggs at night on the beach in Sri-Lanka then scurry back to sea. Lived in South Africa for 4 months, had a blast. Broke leg and ankle, had 3 operations, last one had synthetic bone put into ankle. Bionic women now. Drove 3000 miles in 10 days from Toronto to New York, New Jersey, and Long Island. Saw ground zero, Empire state building, Wall street, Stature of Liberty and Ellis Island, this part I enjoyed. Drove 5 States in 10 days. Excellent holiday. Refused admission to Jason Donovan, Jesse Birdsall, Andy May, (Bristol City FC) because they were not members of the Casino that I worked in England. All were not amused. Amanda Ontario, Canada |

I have been to the Maldives. WOW!!! loved it. Nothing to do but you never get bored. Seen Niagra falls in both summer and winter (winters best, it looks like slush puppy) Flown over it, gone behind it! and stood beside it also been on the 'maid of the mist' I went swimming in a canadian lake in the summer, then went back 5 months later and walked on the same lake! (frozen) Also did the CN tower. I have swum with dolphins, Scubber dived in the Indian ocean also in the south of France. I have seen where the Tasmin sea meets the Pacific ocean in New Zealand. I also sheared a sheep! I drove a camper van along it's 90mile beach ( it's 60 miles long in reality) Thats another story! lol I found my real father in Canada when i was in my 40s (last seen when I was 10months old) Also found my adopted half Sister on GENES REUNITED! (we havent met yet but talk almost everyday) Worked all my adult life to rear three kids on my own. Now I have 7 grandchildren :o))) and adding to my family tree all the time. Hi Maz, Nothing earth-shattering, but ... Stood in Parliament Square on Queen Elizabeth's coronation day and saw her go by in her state coach. Fed carrots to the horses in their stables at Horse Guards Parade when I was a little girl. Worked in an office a few doors along the corridor from Sir Douglas Bader. Twice had artwork featured on TV programmes in the 1960s. Seen the Rolling Stones performances before they were famous. Been a studio dancer on 'Ready, Steady, Go!' Seen the first London show performances of Ike & Tina Turner, Simon & Garfunkel and T-Rex. Spoken to (on the phone) and met various pop stars and nobility in the 1960s and 1970s. Visited Dracula's castle in Transylvania. Sat in the visitor's gallery at the House of Lords. Seen Bolshoi ballet company performances on London tours. Been given a lift to the station in a Rolls Royce owned by a fellow commuter several times when my bus didn't turn up. Contracted a mystery skin ailment which remains undiagnosed after two years of investigation and 'treatment' by all manner of medical practitioners (NHS and private) and alternative therapists. You see, I said nothing that special - except the last one, which I could well do without! CB >|< |

Been chased by a hippo cow, while trying to make a get away in a 5mph fishing boat. Sitting in the middle of the river in same boat while a shark fin swims round and around, too scared to move. Waiting for tide to come in so shark can bug off. Sleeping with one eye open listening for six inch flying cockroaches. Checking shoes for scorpions before putting them on. Nearly drowning in the river while swimming when someone yelled SNAKE! Swiped at by a four month old lion cub that is docile. (have it on video) Smelling to high heaven for the rest of the day after holding a two month old cub. Caught in a raging storm in a caravan for three days, car as dead as a doornail. Everyone else gone. Tent flew away, Bush telephone not working, lines down due to storm. Nearly strangled husband, played cards for three days and ate out of cans. Could never convince hubby to go caravanning again. Met the Duke of Braganca at a gala dinner. Lol.. Maz, I could write a book.....you sure have brought back memories... Lindy ;) |
