HI! although you mean well, len, some people do need to diet, i will not be drawn into a discussion on this thread as it's for diet support. You are very fit and obviously don't have a problem with your weight but i do! If i continue to eat the way i do i will gain weight, therefore i have to reduce my calorie intake, this is called dieting! I am a very fit person and do hi-impact sports, but am over weight from having a baby. That is all i have to say. Anyway, just popped in to tell you all to keep going, one day slips are bound to happen, this is about the rest of your life so don't feel guilty for one day! good luck ladys! xxx |

There's no need to go on a diet, just watch your calorie intake and start an exercise programme. Weight does not materialise out of thin air but when the energy intake exceeds the amount burnt up, the excess will be laid down at fat. After starting regular exercise, the weight may (alarmingly) increase as muscle weighs more than fat and the latter takes time to go. Read labels on foods and avoid any where the UNsaturated fat exceeds 5%. Alcholic and many soft drinks are very high in calories. Salt should not be added to food as there is already more than enough for our needs in bread, cereals and manufactured foods and salt retains water in the body. Water weighs about 1.25 lb per pint. We are about 90%water. Good exercise is rhythmical and should raise the heart-rate slightly. Walking briskly is the best. Unfortunately, housework does not help a lot. Yoga will make you marvellously supple but will do nothing else for you. Weight-lifting should only be done in moderation and then in conjuction with aerobics. Anyone want to wrestle? Len ps, I'm 5ft 8inches and weigh 10 stone - 140lb |

Just had salmon fillet baked with fresh lemon, organic baby asparagus and for pudding: strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, red currants and blackcurrants. This dieting is tough!! |

I know what you mean Donna, it seems much more manageable in small bits. |
