Ooh Les, the excitement of moving into a new house! I wish you luck selling the house in the 'Hub city'. I have just realised - we moved into this house 10 years ago TODAY! How time flies. |

Hi Everyone. I have just read through the threads - what a day. I sure hope that Maz persues the 'nasties' who emailed her. Pat - do you remember the thread 'are you afraid to post on the board'. I think that today has summed it up. Another mixed bag today as far as the weather is concerned. Last weekend was SO hot - in the 30's. Mind you I was under the weather so didn't enjoy it. Hope that this weekend is as nice. I hope that everyone is well. Deb |

Deb, yes I remember but people should not be afraid. Put your tin hat on and come on out here and post, ok you may need skin of a rhino or even an elephant (that is gonna remind me forever of Mags in Bristol lol, Mags they are nice thoughts you remind me of an elephant its a compliment) ok and then all we need is for everyone to support each other all those people who thought this was some sort of private club no it isn't, those who thought they were alone no you are not, and those who thought I would go to bed early and give up on my broadband no way will i be defeated by a machine that doesn't understand my needs. I got back on here with determination took me about an hour but I am here. Post away, someone will be here to either read it, add to it or support it. Just go for it. I am a night owl I admit it and I love owls, :-) Pat x |

Jacq just tidying up here I must go soon, lol. losing that connection for that hour really bu****ed my computer up having to do all sorts now. Bats can't hear them only got one good ear from childhood I had a mastoid op when I was between 2-4 years old, no one remembers exactly when the op was done but tonsils went at the same time. Anyway Hubby and my son hear the bats not fair as i am the one who loves the bats they don't particularly like them typical aint it? You lucky thing in Grenada and Bats as well, lol. Pat x |

Found you all! You cant hide from me Velvet :) I've always been a night owl, but become more of an early bird being out here. The darn birds start singing so early, talk about dawn chorus... ...mind you the sight of the falcons soaring above the Bosphorus is more than worth being up this early. The old girl next door has a cow, that has a 4a.m alarm in-built(she has a little place that is worth a mint , because of the property boom, but she won't budge... just her and the animals) and it wakes me up most days. We're on the last leg of the semester, kids leave June 10th. My 8th are 'graduating', so there's a huge party atmosphere. Girls all have their 'posh frocks', and I cant wait to see how my monsters scrub up... I'll try to post some photos next weekend. Who would have believed a year could go so quickly... Have a great day, I'll drop in later... Mx |

I am so glad that the thread is surviving!!!! Pat, My Mum had a mastoid when she was a child. When she is asleep on the 'good' ear she hears nothing! Boy can I share a story or two of when we were teenagers! Pat I will move the thread up. Magi I too work in a high school. The grad is on Saturday. The enviroment has been a buzz of 'grad fever'. Our daughter had her grad last weekend. If I may say so myself, she looked beautiful. (pics on photo page). She came back from the 'after Grad' on Tuesday. She and her girlfriends had spent 2 nights in Whistler, (sight of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games - a plug!). When she went to her class on Wednesday her teacher commented on how beautiful she looked, that he had never seen her in a dress before, 'and now look at you in the sweat pants'!!! As far as bats go - I don't like them. We sit outside at night and they swoop - too close for me. We should get a 'bat house' as they are wonderful creaturesi... they eat mosquitos. I hate mozzies even more.... Happy times on the 'owl' thread............. Deb |

I'm here Mandy!!! Hows the coffee? So Mandy what part of the UK are you situated? I think we will go out later for Chinese food. We have a place here called Hons- there is a chain of them. The best food of its kind and Cheap! We were going to go to the UK this summer, but the price of things there put us off. What we pay in $ you pay in pounds (2.5 times more) Pat are you still there and how is the Guinness? |

Pat, My Nan drank about 6 Guinness every night. I do not like the stuff myself. When we were in Ireland I did force one down though. She came over here one year, My husband stocked up on the Guinness for her, but made the worst possible mistake regarding Guinness. He put it in the fridge!!!! I can still hear my Nan! There is a bridge in Vancouver named the 'Lions Gate Bridge' It was built by the Guinness family! I have always said that my Nan funded at least 50% of it LOL Deb |

Hi Mandy, Yes much cheaper. I remember the days (20 years ago) when it was the reverse. We can go out tonight and stuff our faces, come home with enough for lunch tomorrow, and the whole thing will cost (tops) $25. About 10 pounds. Give me the name of something and I will tell you what we pay. Deb |
