Thanks to the continued efforts of a small group of people, a member has been suspended. Quite understandably, GR can only take into account evidence relating to this site and complaints made to them and have acted accordingly. This doesn't mean that many of the rest of us don't know about the snide provocation on now deleted threads or the whispering campaigns that have been going on for ages. Thought I'd make that clear.

I don't know whats going on here at the moment, obviously missed it all this time! I posted on a thread earlier today re alternative web sites and that appears to have gone. As I posted on there my renewal is up on friday and I am seriously thinking of not bothering. This site has changed so much over the past year. I renewed last year and within a few weeks the whole atmosphere had changed on here, many people have disappeared and it just isn't the same. Diane

Mike Chambers had been suspended from today for 8 weeks.

No surprise there then!

That is sad, he was really working hard getting the book club going. He obviously upset somebody but I couldn't see any harm in him. Ann Glos

Perhaps this will make people who pass round emails and go on MSN to say nasty things, think about what they do to others, I have had enough of the nasty snidy remarks. It's happened to me on more than one occassion, the last time a nasty comment was made to me, lots of others jumped on the bandwagon, I haven't forgotton who they were, and I have told others who they were, and hope they feel VERY ashamed of themselves, but I doubt they do, they are now probably picking on some other poor soul. Find it odd the ones who do it are often the ones who feign hurt when it happens to them. Lynda

Hi Ann Think we may find that because Mike seemed to be popular, that was the problem, some people don't like others who they feel are a threat, yep daft I know, but thats how I see it. Lynda

Well I for one am not at all happy about the suspension He had started a damn good Book Club Thread, which has generated a lot of interest and discussion. Sadly some people seem to overlook the good things people do on this site and seem only to want to discuss people when they are 'out of line' Dee xx

Lynda If that comment is headed my way, I can assure you that I had no part what so ever in this suspension.. and as I have said before in a very public apology, I will not be goaded into such behaviour again! I apologised, I can do no more than that! If it wasnt headed my way, I will promptly ignore the comment :O) Maz

Hi David, I can't understand why Mike can be suspended? if its from the thread last night then that is ridiculous, he didn't do anything wrong. He was popular with some but others certainly didn't like Mike. I think this is terrible another suspension, handing them out quick and fast here. Pat x

Dee, we have to make sure that we keep the book club going. So far the thread has not been removed, not sure if theyw ill take it off if Mike has been suspended. We should all make a note of the July choice so thatw e can still keep going. if necessary we can start another thread for it. Aren't people catty? i am sure that there was no need for a suspension. I have read this board from arfar for 2 years now - everytime i have tried to join in have either killed a thread dead or had my threads ignored. Last night i responded to Pipsy s thread about feeling like outsiders and at the same time was reading the apparent 'offending thread'. If that is how somebody gets treated for being forthright then I am glad that my threads get ignored. May I take this opportunity of saying that I have had nothing but fantastic help and guidance on the tips and records boards. The general board just apppears to be such a 'closed shop' and as my dear old dad used to say ' familiarity breeds contempt '. PS thought that Mike was very funny

Lots of threads get like that late at night when people get tired Roxanne but they don't all get suspended. People usually ignore it and everything is fine the next day. it is only when somebody decides to put the knife in that that happens. there are always two sides to a story and obviously one person got their side in first and Mike lost. ginny, a lot of people on the general board are the same people who are on tips and records. we don't just stay on one board. (well most of us don't) Ann Glos
