Can I just ask...........do those who are using two names on the boards just change their names when they post? Mandy

I feel I must say.. that some people do use multiple logins in a purely non-malicious way. I am aware of people who do it because they're adopted - they have one login for their adoptive family, and one for their birth family. Again, it aint what you do, it's the way that you do it, to coin a phrase.

BC could be any of us over 50s (or 60s in my case) but it is not me. Unfortunately you still wouldn't know if I was telling the truth. we are all going to become very suspicious of each other now and that is sad. Ann Glos

I am confused (easily done!). If you have multiple log-ins, would you pay for each one? Joy

Bec

Bec Report 2 Jun 2005 16:17

Well, 1. I'm not part of a clique 2. I use MSN but only regularly 'chat' with three members from GR (and not about GR members!) 3. I am DISGUSTED that there is blatant bullying going on! I think we're fast reaching the point where they will have to be named and shamed! If GR will not remove them then if we all know about them then we can ignore them and then hopefully they'll leave and we'll know who to stay away from! Love becx (who really is 22...)

Unknown Report 2 Jun 2005 16:20

Joy, yes you would Bec - the problem is, people don't always see the bullying the same way - since things are done quite subtely sometimes, some that seem 'persecuted' can in fact be the perpetrators of the probelem. So someone might be named as a bully/trouble maker, when in fact they aren't. You know what they say, you can fool some of the people, all of the time...

Its so sad that people cant enjoy this facility for what its for.. I come on here just to have a bit of fun mainly in the pub after a busy day , or during a busy day.. Im who i say i am, I have only ever met 1 person..Jean in washington..coz were practically neighbours...lovely lady ..daft as a ships cat , but lovley ;) Maybe im naive but i dont really care if there are people sad enough to try and decieve us, by switching log ins, im laughing at the sado's...i avoid trouble like the plague coz i can ...simply by not adding to threads or just switching off :) I have to agree with several other people these people must lead really sad lonely lives that trying to instigate trouble, is fun to them.. anita :)x

Just a thought, but how do we know the culprit is female? If they've not been named, coud it be (Shock! Horror!) one of the male variety? CB >|<

Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond

Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 2 Jun 2005 16:26

I joined GR in Feb 05 and started coming on this message board some time after, to the detriment of my family tree. I thought at the beginning there was a core of people who seemed to know a lot about each other so felt a bit wary of 'intruding' but gradually started adding comments and also contacted a few people directly, as have others contacted me. All those in contact were very nice and as I am quite an open person (maybe too much sometimes) I found a lot in common with some of the good folk. I have had lots of penfriends throughout my life (I am 57) and this was just like having penfriends without having to go to the postbox, or wait for a reply. I have mentioned once or twice how I felt about the 'in crowd' but didn't let it put me off, although I also mentioned that the bickering and siding with each other seemed very childish and unnecessary to me. So folks although I recently changed my name, it was purely because I felt vulnerable with my real name on the boards, when I was talking about personal stuff. I was either not very memorable as no-one has posted that they missed me or was concerned about my sudden disappearance, or more hopefully most of the regulars recognised my ramblings and knew who Purple Petunia really was. I did not change my name for any deceitful means and with me it is what you see, is what you get. I try not to hurt people's feelings but I will call a spade a spade. Peace and love, Liz

Dave It was fun! I don't normally join in because I am usually too late and the fun has ended and I don't post unless I have something relevant to say. I do really enjoy your threads though, particularly the NAKED one last night, that was really brilliant! I read a lot of the threads but don't participate much. Lyn

I've always been a very catious person and am always careful who i speak to on MSN and to what threads i reply to. I,ve recently added quite a few names to my contacts lists of people who wanted someone to chat to. Now i'm very reluctant to get in touch with them in case there the ones in the 'clique' so to speak. I would hate to think i was getting drawn into something unknowingly. Having said that MSN is a good thing really, i have made a very good friend through this site and chat to her quite regularly. I also hardly ever add to threads of any kind, too scared of upsetting someone. Although i did feel strongly about something a couple of weeks ago so did have my say. I can't put my feelings over quite as well as some of you can so don't bother most of the time lol. I too would love to know who's in the clique if anyone wants to email me privately.Think i must be a bit niaeve as i havn't a clue who causes trouble or who does what i just read the threads and then move on. I know its up to me who i chat to but its better to be forwarned i think. A very weary and cautious Deb X
