how many people use chat???.i for one go on there on a friday night and have met some really lovely people on there.i wasn't on last nite so cannot comment on the event but have never had any problems on there and have met some really nice people.o would miss it if it was taken offxxxxxx(:

Must admit I've given up even looking at 'chat', it used to be great and we had some good laughs. Only reply to a few threads on this board now, so a BIG hello to all my old mates out there - hope you're all doing OK.

hi paul, the offenders were duly kicked off site so it wasnt ignored. unfortunately i feel drink gets the better of people sometimes.

just nipping in to say HI to Trish!!!!! I agree about the chat board though, I used to use it daily. A day chat would take up all 20 pages back then as it was so busy. I looked a while ago and the 20 pages covered three days!!! So i guess a lot of peeps aren't using the chat board so much. Having only been on there twice ( I think) in past yr ( both times to say hi to people I knew) I can't comment on the people who use it.

Well hi everyone Im JoJo lol I have used chat for months and months now, an oldie on there you might say and I can honestly say to my knowledge it is extremely rare to have last nights goings on on chat. We are a friendly bunch on there, i've meet some lovely people on there who have become my friends. PAUL glad you retracted the moron bit, I wasn't happy with that, thought we were old friends lol I see arguments all the time on GT board and ignore them as I think life is too short for all that. I wasn't on there when all this went on last night but looked back and looks like this stephen guy just wanted to cause problems. The rest of the people on there Nick, Adam, Viv etc are lovely people they do not go around shouting abuse at people. I've had some good laughs on chat with old and new people and hope it continues Regards JoJo xxx

i use the chat room nearly every night and have made some really good friends in there, there is always a friendly welcome for anyone who wants to join in. admittedly the conversations do get a bit silly sometimes but to me that is the whole point. i come in the chat room at the end of a hard day knowing i will leave with a smile on my face, the people on there have cheered me up countless times and are always there to help if you need advice, the 'person' who caused all the trouble last night is by no means typical of the friendly lively, sometimes nutty people that frequent the room, i would be lost without my chill out times there, so to those of you who have seen fit to knock us let me invite you to join us and then maybe we can change your opinion.

I have already thanked Paul for his post on here but as the thread has come back to page 1, I have one comment I would like to make.... Christine.... How many times was it you looked into Chat...oh, yes, 'one quick look' well, perhaps you should have peeked in this morning; you would have noticed that, strange as it may seem, they were actually talking about genealogy!!!! To my knowledge the vast majority of people who use chat are caring, friendly and very helpful people. Chat is a useful place to go to do exactly that chat....as Sue C says to chill out after work or just to have someone to talk to. Take a look one day at some threads on General you will find the occasional monosyllabic word conversations going on there, it happens.....If you don't use I do not see the problem. Jacquie xxxxx
